I own two of them. The aluminum wand ones suffer from resonance problems. That's why the later ones were carbon fiber. Anyway, a DIY improvement can be made by covering the wand with good quality heat .......

The thing with chip amps is that when one goes out it tends to take out the entire board with it. Mosfets with a robust linear supply cost a lot more, but you get what you pay for. I learned the chip .......

Depending on the purity of the water being distilled to some extent, it can be argued that Aquafina is much purer than ordinary distilled water. Just because something gets distilled doesn't mean that .......

Nope, the top plate isn't necessary. There are a variety of ways to mount it. One Hungarian broadcast turntable maker ran it on its side, and used an idler wheel that contacted the bottom of the plat .......

You need a controller that regenerates three phases to really do it right. Think big bucks because it isn't a cheap proposition. I honestly don't know a vendor who currently offers one. .......

30W total under maximum load. They are three phase, so 10W per phase. The motors are eddy current types, so most of this energy is bled between phases to make the motor run smoother. That results in .......

The "Achilles Heel" to this turntable is most likely the Papst motor arrangement because the way it is would allow for air circulation noise from the many motor fins to be prominent. A different Papst .......

The Papst motor in my Saskia turntable is the same form factor, except it has twice the torque and is three times more power hungry. It's controller allows for any speed, but it is calibrated for 33,4 .......

The best one is the low output "L" designation. It uses the EPS-205EX replacement stylus, but that stylus will fit the "H" body. In fact, mating the "L" stylus with the "H" body is mentioned in the T .......

Here's a tremendous bargain. I've seen it in action. It's build level and its performance are top shelf in every way. The effective mass is 13 grams, which is typical, although a bit light for a Denon .......

John, No tests are needed because the bristles are soft, and that particular part of the platter is thick. Another thing to consider is that of cartridge stabilizer brushes on some models and Dust Bug .......

The 1019 has been ignored because of the tonearm that is there permanently, the small platter, being auto, etc. It sounds good, though. Go figure. .......

The 1019s are going up in price. They are much better than the other Duals, and probably the best automatic turntables ever made. They are worth twice the price of a 1228 these days. Don't let yours g .......

The cartridge is a hand-built one that was made with greater care than a typical Audio-Technica. It has a nude shank-mounted stylus on an aluminum cantilever. Although it is the least of the AM Series .......

John, Incredulous and ridiculous are subjective words. The fact of the matter is that the Lyra Olympos is the finest cartridge that I have ever heard, and the Atlas, by all reports, is even better. $9 .......

Of the two I mentioned, I believe the Allnic is closer in price to the VDH. I believe the Lyra is considerably more expensive, however. .......

It is not the new tangential design, but I believe it has the capability to adjust azimuth by turning the entire wand, and the antiskating is handled magnetically. I don't own one (yet), but I believe .......

Check put the Artemis Labs tonearm. It is available in both 9" and 12" versions. This is a Frank Schroeder designed tonearm. Caveat: I know and am friends with the designer of the arm and the owne .......

Of all the new cartridges around, the Lyra Atlas seems to have stolen all the thunder from the rest. It is reported to be even better than the Olympos, which is quite a feat, so if you love your Titan .......
