If you don't love blown tweeters and dried ferrofluid then ATC are much better choice. Excellent sound quality,unrestricted dynamics and loudness are bonuses. .......

I use EML 300B XLS in my Manley 300B preamp. Much better than EH300B and real Svetlanas sonically(but never experienced any noise from any of them...) .......

...my system always sounds unbearably harsh after using it...and takes time to return to normal sound...ceased to use the thing...I recommend to do break-in with tuner as source,playing music at norma .......

...I use KT120 in my custom made PP monoblocks(495v/85ma fixed bias)...they sound as well as Golden Lion EH KT88 I used before...and even slightly better in bass and dynamics...and they are more relia .......

They have good sonics and stable bias but reliability can be better. I got my tubes from Jim McShane and he was known for good tubes testing. For now I lost 2 tubes out of 6...One after 200 hours and .......

Actually sound quality is not bad at all... I get a lot of pleasure from local classical Kol Hamusica. Sound in mono is very good to excellent (for stereo - signal is not too strong and antenna is Mag .......

Wrong move. To my ears good MM is more musical than most I moved in opposite drection - from DV Karat to Shure M97XE and got more music as result. Put your money on better deck/stand/arm/phonostage in .......

I don't advice on KT90. The first thing they had inferior to JJ mid-high range in my amps. The second-it's hard to find them and seems they are not very reliable though my set was fine. Rebias? I did .......

I didn't hear newest Golden Lion but tried almost all others KT88,KT90 and 6550. For best bass(and overall performance too) stick to your JJ. All others(Ei KT90 excluded) aren't even near in this depa .......

And I think their KT88 are the best of the best - exellent sounding, powerful, balanced with best bass around and exeptionally reliable(and I used them in 2 amps with 80-90ma bias and 480v on plates). .......

I have both teflons and oil V-Caps in my tubed pre. Teflons are absolutely incredible. OIMPs are not bad - but in another sonic league IMO. I substitute my OIMPs for TFTF now - much money indeed... :: .......

OK, my Harvester was dead silent on my line until... I put PP300 on it. Now I have 2-3 blinks per second. If PP300 was switched off then Harvester didn't blink at all. Wow!!! .......

The best sounding tubes in all KT88/KT90/6550 family so far IMO. And I tried almost all in my amp. Reliability can be problem in all of them, the Chineses are the worst in this respect. Especially the .......

Totally wrong. If tube is bald after 100-200 operation hours it's gassy and is dangerous to use. Ask any tube equipment designer. And nobody talk about blue glow here. .......

I use JJ KT88 right now and they are awesome IMO. Exellent from bass to treble with perfect balance and very clear and dynamic. But bias has to be not higher than 73ma in my amp - otherwise sound star .......

If you ask about current production then KT90Ei and JJ KT88. Bass of KT90 is deeper but overall JJ are much superior(better balanced and with exellent resolution,tonality and speed). Of course - IMO a .......

Try Valve Art KT88 (GEC copy). In my PP amp they have incredible dynamics,scale and punch with very even and sweet tonal balance. The all other modern production EL34,6550,KT88 and KT90 are thousands .......

Grasshopper is high-compliance design so it's not fussy about arm. Koetsu is low-compliance and needs very high-quality arm like Linn and Lyra carts. It's not right to compare these carts on RB300. Yo .......

He does have problem with gain. Prefix K or S has 56db gain or x700. Output of XX2 is .2mv so we have about 140mv. Now Naim preamplifiers have 70mv input sensitivity so it's more than enough for Naim. .......

Hi, I need to reterminate Litz cable(~350 isolated strands). Do you know of easy chemical method to strip off isolation from the strands? It's impossible and impractical to use soldering iron or sand .......

I have Microgroove+ and use it with Linn Klyde MC(0.15mv output). My Microgroove fully rejects RFI, has high output(gain is x4000 or 70db) and provides exellent sound quality. It's for sell now becaus .......

I think I know what happened with my LP12. If you read all the thread in supplied link Jim mentioned his springs are SOFT. Springs I got with Circus package are black coloured and are not soft at all. .......

You have ground loop. Lift all grounds of connected components with exception of preamplifier and hum will gone away. I have Quad 606 and did that. Obviously all ungrounded components are not electric .......

I had 750$ Linn Klyde and now there is OC9 on my LP12/ARO. While OC9 is good cartridge it's in no way competitive with Klyde. It's not 550$ difference,it's 2000$ in musicality and involving factor-ano .......

I have it and true, it's very good. But you will realize HOW it's good only with adequate vinyl soource. Use sensitive speakers. Anything >3ohm will be driven with aplomb. It has low(500mv) input sens .......
