uh, actually, the bugle uses a low noise op amp of your choosing. most of the better choices use a single differential input pair, maybe cascoded, loaded with a current mirror. i have a bugle and use .......

choice of parts should also depend on what you're doing with it - amplifying moving coil or moving magnet cartridge signals. "rule of thumb" is bipolar transistor input op amps will be lower noise for .......

Nope, no SACD, just old design Sony "tank". 779ES has fantastic transport; also used in some Accuphase products. Has a ~45MHz clock and derives a synched ~16MHz from that. .......

If the 600 used the same parts and circuitry as the 565 .... I beleive at the time, Adcom was using some Linear Technology parts. The RIAA section used the LT1115 + LT1010 buffer, pretty much as you s .......

Generally, you can still reduce distortion and improve performance by adding a buffer to the opamp even if it can drive 600 ohms. Look for articles on buffers and line drivers by op amp guru Walt Jung .......

Adcom sells the service manuals for about $10 that has schematics, PCB parts/placement pics, detailed specs and performance graphs, etc.. Well worth it, IMHO; I used to buy some of them just for study .......

There are more linear buffers available that cost less and sound better (to me). Depening on how much current you need, a pair of 2SK170 JFETs and a few resistors make a GREAT sounding, low distortion .......

What you are seeing is part of how the circuit operates. A faster op (i.e. one with a shorter settling time) won't alter this at all (assuming the circuit is working properly - sometimes undesired osc .......

It's worth it to replace the AD712 with OPA2604. In my experience, the AD712 has a "weak" output stage (in this aspect of performance, the AD712 is somewhat similar to the TL072; otherwise it is MUCH .......

The PGA2310 is indeed an intriguing part. It uses a better (BurrBrown) op amp than the CS3310 and runs with higher rails (+/-15V) for better performance. The logic piece still runs at +5v. ::: TOPIC:: .......

I suspect the "open loop" output impedance also depends on the type of MOSFET you're using as well. It is well known that the lateral geometry devices (the ubiquitos Hitachi 2SK135/2SJ50 and similar) .......
