have had dunleavy SC IV s for about 20 years also. primarily fed by audion 845 tube (24 watts) monoblocks. mckintosh 5100 integrated when the audions needed service. while the mckintosh did have punch .......

i have an older 845 tube based stereo monoblock amplifier one tube has burned out (after about 6 years). had united electronics tubes. i wish to replace with newer tubes and have read about incompata .......

you may be partially right i am older male. decreased high frequency hearing(audiologist test). and i prefer tubes. but my wife hears everything with exquiste sensitivity. she prefers the tubes (SET) .......

have dared 845, dared 300b amps, dared sl2000a pre-amp and a kailin 6l6 amp. all well made no breakdowns after aboubt 6 years. 845 amp in main audio video system with most hours on/off switch froze bu .......

now you have me confused. i can understand the wiring for a normal passive bi-amp set-up. right channel stays right and left stays left. but in a vertical bi-amp set-up, how do you get left highs and .......

no kidding. i just received a benchmark dac 1. sony dvp-NC650v as transport.glass fiber optical out. extraordinary smooth vibrant sound. but not better that sony dvp-ns685v to meridian 518 to DEQ2496 .......

have had one of these about four weeks finding adapters for my single-ended integrated amps was the most problem. i use a sony dvp-nc685v mutli disc sacd/dvd player and an oppo dvd player as transport .......

thanks, at one point the speaker wires were touching--good old screw terminals. but the problem continued to a lesser extent when i secured the connections. i will be testing the speakers with other a .......
