Timm, Have you heard the 3.7 vs the 3.7i? I found a decent deal on some 3.7 with Mye stands about 200 miles from me and they are just a lot less than the i model. Coming from the 1992 Tympani I would .......

The bass from the Odysseys cross at 250hz, correct? Being as I already have massive subs doing 80hz and below, I assume that I would probably notice a difference in the ML woofer. I think I am leaning .......

The Sunfires are much better sounding than the earlier Carver offerings, many of which I have used; the Sunfires are more refined and forceful. That being said, I still find them to have a similar son .......

I am sure these speakers have their place, somewhere in some application. But the big killer to me is not the lack of a QR. Recall the SMGs and MG1s also had no QR but are still considered by many to .......

By the way, in the layout I provided the Tympani are way closer to the wall than they really are; in my current setup the bass panels are 3' from the back wall and the twt/mid panels are 18" in front .......

A few other observations: - I haven't noticed this phenomenon in person, but in pictures the Tympani totally dwarf the 67" TV. And they are not even fully extended since the twt/mid is either sideways .......

My guess is pretty good, as long as it is for this "quad center" setup. The CC series is curved to reach several chairs horizontally when mounted normally, so when mounted vertically in a tri (or quad .......

There is definitely a difference. Before I got my side and rear MMGs, I tested the side location with MG1s, which are all wire and have that same 16khz top end. The MMG's "shimmer" more on the top end .......

My concern with respect to mylar in the back is that bass is created by moving lots of air. The perforations in the metal are quite small, and may make up less than 30% or so of the total driver side. .......

That's right... the polarity swap on the bass panels will probably reduce the bass output... and put them out of phase with my stereo subs... So everything is probably suffering from some sort of phas .......

It depends largely on how the speakers were treated, which you may never know for sure. The 2.7s were introduced in 1994, making them almost 20 years old at most. I picked up a pair of MGIIIa's in 201 .......

Yeah, I'm pretty convinced it was just a bad unit. I've driven the Tymps with 3 different Sunfires and a B&K receiver with perfect results. That, and no one else has ever reported a problem with Emoti .......

In addition, I believe the new style grill cloth offers more UV protection. This may not be an issue if you don't have them by a window, but it wouldn't hurt. .......

Absolutely. The proposed bang-for-the-buck is the reason I had to try an Emotiva in the first place! Of course in the end after making some trades I ended up with a really sweet deal on my Sunfire Sig .......

I use a Samsung hl67a750. It's a DLP using an LED light source which eliminates the entire color wheel and with it the associated rainbow effect and motion artifacts. Picture quality far exceeds lamp- .......

In my experience, the MMGs can sound good when wall mounted, although like someone else posted, you may need to eq. While the MGMC1s and MMGWs were designed to be up against a wall to enhance bass to .......
