One of the Gold Lion KT-88s on my Citation II started to glow a bright orange. I shut the amp down before it red plated. I was still getting audio from the amp at the time and nothing smelled burned. .......

That's a possibility. The 344 is rated at 105 mAh and the AA I think is 3,000 mAh. I don't know what the load is for the 1.5 v battery test position on the DMM. I checked the 344's current and its rig .......

I did take off the bottom and the 18-ohm resistor is burnt. I have one but have not gotten around to replacing it yet. When you replaced yours, you replaced them as a pair? Were you wanting to instal .......

It appears that the state reported daily data is not tied to the sampling date, so in that regard there is agreement between Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and Worldometer reporting method .......

I am giving them a listen on a Scott 299 amp. As you might guess, bass is a bit light, although it is there. They seem to be fairly efficient. I think that I like them better than the Realistic Minimu .......

I am replacing some American Radionic foil and wax(?) caps. I am replacing them with Cornell Dubilier 940C 600VDC caps. The spec sheet indicates they are a metalized PP cap. Maybe I am concerned about .......

Possibly. The seller is sending me a new stylus. Also I've read that a greater tracking force is required for the aftermarket stylus that I am using, so I am going to try that. .......

Yes I have read something similar with regards to the alignment that the manufacturer used in it's design. I also wonder if the 15 mm overhang with the 222 mm spindle to pivot distance isn't based on .......

I printed out the protractor. The cartridge squared-up without having to twist it. I played a record with female vocals and it sounded pretty good, probably as well as it could within the capabilities .......

This morning it sure did look like the distance was 222 mm. This afternoon, maybe 223 mm. It sure won't follow the arc described by John's parameters. Looks like its 2-3 mm short close to the spindle. .......

Thanks Ron. I noticed that the Scott schematic indicated two 12ax7 and two 12ax7A tubes. It appears my 299 has four 12ax7. I don't know enough about tubes to know if that's significant. I will likely .......

Yes I found the samr brochure. I did try twisting the feet a bit, but I am very reluctant to twist the feet too much because I don't want to shear the rubber, as I have seen happen on other turntables .......

As I recall it just lifts straight off. There is no clip. Sometimes they will stick and it takes a GENTLE knock on the spindle while lifting to free it. .......

No, for both the bias (anti-skating) tests and the tracking tests on the test record, and the musical program, the distortion seems to be in thre right channel. .......

Could you elaborate on the funkiness of the anti-skate? I notice a sticking point on mine. I can get past it I slightly lift the antiskate housing, but I've always wondered if there's an issue with it .......

I'm using both Seb's Thorens protractor and B. Kearns universal that are on the Vinyl Engine homepage. I may try using just a regular Baerwald protractor just to get to some sort of reasonable baselin .......

I tried backing off a gram resulting in finding that the brush holds the stylus off the record surface. The KAB site indicates that a gram should be allowed for the brush, so I guess that I have that .......

I did the same thing. The Stanton isn't great, but should be better than the Shure. I had correspondence with Kevin at KABUSA regarding the Stanton prior to purchase of the new stylus, it was his opin .......

It was set with the Shure scale at 2.5 g, so it "should" be tracking at 1.5 g with the brush. .......

What were your pivoting issues? If in fact the arm cartridge set-up should do better, than I am suspicious that there may be an issue with the tonearm bearings. They were loose and I did tighten them, .......

It sounds surprising good, given (I'm guessing) the 25-30 year old cartridge design. I am using on a Sansui 929. I used the the Hi-Fi News test record to set it up and it tracked all but the last bias .......

It appears that it does. When you say to connect the bridge neg. to the large filter cap neg, and the bridge pos to the large fiter cap pos, this will lead to bypassing the other components on the boa .......
