Can't quite come to terms with the way mine is sounding. I've had Bugle Boy and Telefunkens. Both were too lush and rolled off sounding, however it did improve with a seimens rectifier tube. Right now .......

look at page 2 of the 2M user guide, looks identical. Looks like it will fit, however you can probably pull off the just cantilever from the holder and stick it inside your cartridge. I did this to a .......

there is a large vacuum formed plastic container inside. It looks like it would hold 1 litre of fluid. If you are that worried about it, you can use a turkey baster to suck the fluid out of there, but .......

EVERY cart I've ever owned has had a slightly skewed cantilever. You're supposed to align the cantilever, not the friggen body!!! Go back to CD's if you can't deal with it!!! Sorry for thr rant. ::: T .......

Does it slip up or down? If down, the plastic pully is riding too low. Send the table in for warranty, or if you don't care about the warranty and want to get it running, you need to pry the pulley up .......

Don't bother with a Gyrodec. Get the Gyro SE (Spider edition) and just toss a soft cloth over it. That's what I did and it worked fine as a dust cover. The Gyro SE is mostly silver paint, so if dust g .......

it is a gear drive platter, so it is quite normal. Don't worry about it, you're cleaning records on it, not playing music. I've owned 2 - 16.5's and they've both had back and forth play. .......

RM-4 is a nice table, used to own one! If you don't want colored, I'd stay away from the Grado. I had the Platinum on there... also had the benz gold one there. Very dynamic sounding but had a weird .......

I would highly recommend some Ikea Lack tables with spikes on the feet. They are only $14 each. I used mine without the legs for my turntable and it was a major improvement in sound, especially in ba .......

instead of playing, you can just rest the needle into a groove with the proper VTF and Zero anti-skate for 12-24 hours at a time. You're not really breaking in the needle, as it's already polished, yo .......

Pro-ject uses very cheap female rca plugs in their junction boxes. Mine were too small around, so the left channel was not making a good ground contact with the rca's, but the real problem i had with .......

Sounds pretty damn good! Has most of the 103's good charateristics and none of the negatives. Bass isn't quite as good at the 103, but it tracks way better. It's a keeper! .......

It'll run anywhere between 9 - 15 volts. The bass is a bit tubby with the 9volts, and a tiny bit better with 12v SLA's. the Hagtech 15+15 is the best. .......

I took the 3 allen bolts and ground the heads down to a smaller diameter, then I enlarged the armboard holes to 1/4 inch. This gave me enough slop to move it outwards, and get the proper spacing. I do .......

I use them for removing the cartridge clips. Works better for me than tweezers or pliers. I tried 3 different carts and 2 different armboard spacers yesterday, so that is why I had so many tools out. .......

I aligned my armboard to be exactly 222.8mm like rega, so the rega template works excellent. Zero inner groove distortion and tracks great. At 222.8mm, the third hole is directly over the spindle. :: .......

the stock arm on the 295 looks like the cheaper end of the Pro-ject line of tonearms. I'd go for the Planar 3 because of the RB300. Table wise, the Thorens is probably better. .......

it will be a nice starting point since you can mod the arm. I have a modded RB250 arm on a $2000 turntable, and it works great. That Rega arm can be fitted to almost any table made, so it is a good pl .......

The DL-103 is a bit difficult to get setup on tonearms of low to medium mass arms. Your project arm has 11 grams of effective mass. That translates to a 16hz resonant frequency. You want to shoot for .......

I printed out a protractor on printer paper, and carefully cut a small triangle with a razor blade. Then I use 3x reading glasses and place the paper near the cantilever. Benz recommends 20-22 degrees .......

I think for RB300 owners, the biggest improvement is had by the instructions telling the owners to set the VTF dial to 3.5, therefore "effectively" disabling the spring. .......

sounds like the horizontal bearings are loose. If you grab tonearm and twist it back and forth, can you feel clicking? It's not too difficult to re-adjust the bearings. Loose bearings will definately .......

A few times is OK, but I heard if you do it constantly, it is bad for the magnets and gradually make them weaker. Might be better to use a record sweep for the coils. .......

alot of the dust does not get sucked in with the fluid, it gets trapped in the felt of the armtube. When you turn off the vacuum, and the armtube lifts off the record, some of the dried dirt goes back .......

Hard to say, but it's not subtle in the least bit. The Rega sounds light on it's feet. Transients are quick, instruments have nice resonants to them, and there is just so much ambience. It's got PRaT! .......

This morning I took the DL103 off the VPI Scout and mounted it on the Rega P25 with modified RB250 (paint stripped off the armtube and tungsten counterweight installed). I was dying to hear what diffe .......

I did something kinda clever if I must say so myself. I had a tungsten end stub given to me by a generous VA member. I installed it along with the stock RB250 stub. It did a much better job of control .......

Just read the new Tecno arm review, and there was some interesting info on why Linn arms don't mate well with non-suspended tables. Anyhow, I find it hard to believe any cdplayer could approach a well .......

I removed the armtube and had it bead blasted. It definately made it sound much harder, like titanium when you tap it. Instead of a dull echo tap before, now it rings and stops immediately. It has mad .......

Know what your loading conversion will be. The 103 sounds great at 100ohms. It is very important to keep the step-up's OUTPUT interconnects as short as possible. Any colorations, capacitance, ETC will .......

I had the Ace and found it to be much more refined sounding, cleaner in the grooves, and a better tracker. However it could not match the Denon in the midrange. Hi-fi versus Music. .......

I have tried a Benz ACE H and Denon DL-103. Both were superb. The Benz did sound cleaner (tracking wise) and the Denon had more realistic sounding cymbals and the midrange was more seductive, although .......
