I have decided to put my CD collection on a hard drive, so I need a better sound card than my onboard sound for 2-channel analog out. I use an ATI HD5450 to decode the new HD codecs for movie playback .......

I think this is the band's best studio album by far. But, their material doesn't even convey how great they are live. Just an incredible concert experience! .......

It is for a tube pre-amp. I have the complete schematic, but I would like to add a muting circuit into the schematic. It would need to be broken down into a pre-amp board, with the tubes and coupling .......

I have a few of the older Volex 17604 cords with the brass plugs, instead of the newer silver plated ones. I figured I would test out some other ends. I will float the shield ground at the pre-amp IEC .......

To be honest, they sound very similiar. I have replaced the tubes in the Jolida to GT12AX7-M's and have used 2 opa627's (dual) on a brown dog adapter in the Rogue. The Jolida has a bit more midrange, .......

Jon, Would it make any difference if I used 1/8" heat shrink to cover the resister/89259 or outer braid/89259 wires to the ground lug? I would do this just to make sure it couldn't short the wires, .......

Thanks. Yeah, the RS caps I bought are way to big to fit in the barrel. With the Eichmann Bullet plugs having a plastic barrel cap, is it okay to run the braid all the way up to the plastic barrel cap .......

John, I ended up getting the Shure cartridge. I didn't want to have to buy a step up transformer right now, but I think I will try the Audio Technica MC cartridge next. Thanks again for all your help .......

I did add a few (I think 4) washers to the back of the counter weight. I used double sided tape to hold everything together. It worked great and I thought it sounded wonderful with the BPS cartridge. .......

John, That is what happened. I switched the cartridge pins on the back of the cartridge. I swapped the white lead with the red lead, and the blue one with the green one. The sound switched speakers, .......

The VTA adjustment hex screws can easily be loosened and tightened by a ball head hex wrench. I couldn't get a straight hex wrench to slip into those hex screws on my MMF-5 until I bought a ball end h .......
