My only comparison is with one of Peter's Soundsmith bodies (I believe made of Snakewood, w a bronze plate), potted, with his Ruby cantilever and a line contact stylus on a 103R. The panzerholtz bodie .......

Very nice and dynamic for the $$ at their respective pricepoints, have replaceable fronts/stylii like the Shure cartridges and are very compact from a size standpoint. If you want more detail look at .......

Would be a real natural partner with a VPI. While I've had a few more impactful moments in certain areas with Shelter, Soundsmith, Grado, Denon, Sumiko, etc.. This may be the best all-rounder i've had .......

My L-75 is a lot more speed and pitch stabile than the TD 124 I used to use and even more than the Kuzma Stabi S belt drive I used to have.. but I have noticed small changes in wall voltage in the hou .......

Somewhere on the Phoenix site Bill mentions that the Eagle works with induction motors too. Verify that on your own.. just to be sure. I was basing my purchase off of this thread and a couple others .......

I'm very satisfied with the initial, SACD/DSD, Ludwig/Landi LPs. The pressings and packaging were quality.. they got rid of any fake stereo.. minimized whatever bad fold down effects were in the ABCKO .......

..and I don't think it's as simple as the L75/L78 under the hood.. but there are peeps at Lenco Heaven who have done high end builds using the G99. It does seem to use a simlar pulley/capstan, vertica .......

IMO, the best way about going at those is to not touch the changer/return mechanisms at all except for cleaning them well. There's a decent .pdf on the VE sit that shows you were to apply a little oil .......

That's why most people combine a 12" and a shorter arm on a base if they go with a long, broadcast type arm. I would suggest the same for variety.. as much as I love the Schick arm; it has the detacha .......

Most itinerations of the 3009 are covered in a big way here. I never had an "Improved", but i'm pretty sure, the prevailing wisdom on it, is that it was designed for higher compliance carts that use .......

Has an 8" woofer I think. A good speaker with a bigger woofer will usually cost you more than $100 in great shape (unless you luckily stumble on to some 70's ARs or JBL L100s or something like that.. .......

I have a Schick G type on my Lenco.. run it with a redone 103R. Thomas apparently designed his 12" arm with SPUs in mind. It's a terrific arm and very simple to set up and use. Looks great too. Unles .......

It's a nice headshell in use & you can likely still find it for a good price from 2Juki on Audiogon & eBay. I ran the same Denon cart in stock form on an SME 3009 (unimproved), with a Blu-Tak "heavie .......

There are much more quailified Fabs vinyl heads & websites that know a ton more than I.. but late 70's era, nice sounding stereos are often the EAS pressings. I have a couple in the stacks around her .......

My cleaning pile is deep enough with used LPs. I am a very thorough, obsessive cleaner when I do so.. So lately, i just thoroughly brush with both a Hunt brush & do my AQ brush preplay routine & enjoy .......
