Digital out direct over firewire is a no go, but I'll bet that one of the pins on the iPod doc connector is a digital out. AFAIK, no-one has found this, yet (Apple keeps the details of this connector .......

While I can't criticize what you and your friends experienced and agreed on, my experience has been just the opposite. Other amps I have listed to, (I can't claim to have tried nearly enough, but some .......

thanks. it's just rust-oleum spray paint. specifically, "hard hat" industrial coating in "safety red" (V2163). the chassis is a standard hammond steel one, which come already primed, so after I drille .......

fwiw, I finished making this amp a couple of weeks ago and am very pleased with the results. it was my first full diy project as well. I used pretty much the same non-exotic parts listed in the docume .......
