I tried with the SUT, didn't like the sound. It's probably due to me not being able to set the jumpers properly. The sound with SUT was kind of blaring compared to the sound straight into iFi Micro iP .......

It is likely that what you are preferring is the mastering job done for the vinyl vs. the mastering job done for the Hi-res. So, IMO, this is not a condemnation of Hi-res digital but instead a condem .......

If you get to hear the 2012 CD equivalent then you will find it sounds pretty much as you describe the LP that you have. In brief the 2012 remastering was a tragic error if compared to a UK original .......

Not all contemporary digital recordings sound bad, same as not all LPs from the pre-digital days sound good. But on average, in my experience, we get better quality via LPs than we get via digital for .......
