I think there are three or may be even four types of Mc folks. The all tube Mc group. The all old solid state Mc group. The all new solid state Mc group. I think all three type of Mc's sounds differen .......

I have a C26, C28, C33 and a C22. With all the tone knobs in the middle, all three solid state pre-amp sounds the same to me. The C22 sounds different. My MX110 sound much closer to the C22. LN ::: TO .......

If you are wondering about the C28..., I can't tell any differences between the C24, C26, C28 and the C33 if you leave the tone control to flat. If someone out there can, please let me know what I am .......

I been using a C33 to push a MC2205 with a set of XR-5/MQ-101 at the end. It sounds OK, tight bass. Kind of surprise to see how much power it needs when I bump up the variable loudness without changin .......

I tested both of mine 225 after I re-tube them with GE NOS. The output is about 35 wpc using the meter off the MC2205. The distortion turn out to be about 0.2% using a Tektronix DA to check. It exceed .......

One of method to check for leaking caps is to feel it. If it is warm or hot, you might want to replaced it. I have a MAC1700 that I got from Charles and I have restore it since and get it working 100% .......

Thanks for all the info. I found a place on the net still that sells replacement lamps and now just waiting for it to show. Took the fly-wheel off the back of the capstian motor and re-lube the bearin .......

I found the same with a EQ-101 I was working on. The schmetic call for a 1K 1/4 watt resistor and the broken resistor is 1.5K 1/4 watt instead. Since the good channel has a 1.5K resistor installed, I .......

Lately I noticed that two of my output tube has a light glowing blue tint from the inside of the tube. Are these tube bad or the amp has problem. Meanwhile, the sound is still ok. thanks for your help .......
