Well actually not a Dual eds but motor (& electronics) from a Revox B-790. This motor is very similar to the eds but with quartz speed control. Design is inspired partly by my friend's Goldmund Stu .......

Many of the early square frame lowthers originally came with a rubber surround and spider. Perhaps the rubber surrounds they sell are intended as replacements for these. I had a pair of old rubber sur .......

If you level the plinth using the 3 adjustable feet and if you are sure that the mass at the arm board is correct, I recall that there is a screw under each spring that allows some adjustment. Just do .......

I went from dact mono attenuators to khozmo. Was happy with dact but with my efficient speakers just didn't have fine enough steps in volume. Went to the Khozmo's which are 48 steps and quite nicely m .......

I don't think the TT71/81 motors would be an upgrade. The TT101 with it's more complex electronics could well be a different story. .......

I would say, as previously suggested, that you would have to pull out the rotor. Then you could clean out the bearing well and put in fresh oil. I didn't disassemble the motor myself but I recall it b .......

I did some research into this for a friend who ha a Studietto with the jvc motor that had an issue. Definitely NOT the same motor as the QL5 or 7 they came out years before Goldmund released the studi .......

In one of the photos I saw on their site there was a simple string & weight arrangement that was partially concealed within the pivot housing. It also appears overhang is adjusted by sliding the base .......

I find it great for getting dust off the platter and vacuum lip of my SOTA based diy turntable. For records I prefer to use a carbon fibre brush and a vpi cleaning machine for grotty ones. ::: TOPIC:: .......

Sounds like the arm wiring or tone arm lead. If you can unscrew the covers on the rca plugs open the up and see if there's a loose connection. .......

I'd think not the cartridge. Sounds like the arm wiring/lead out(or phono stage). Try swapping the right and left arm lead rca's into the phono preamp. .......

If memory serves the papst motor needs about 27v dc (The papst technical data specifies 27v +or-20%) Mod squad used to make a beefy regulated power supply as an upgrade. I think it's better to have on .......

Hi I recently bought a squeezebox 2 on ebay(new in box and indeed that's how it appeared when it arrived). I had the intention of using it stock for a while and then at some stage (when funds allowed) .......

I have recently recapped my Vacuum State fvp preamp using 3.9uf mundorf silver/oil for main output couplers and and 1.5uf auricaps in the phono stage. Am thinking of bypassing all thes caps with 0.01u .......

I built a bugle with premium parts and it sounds very good. I used 1.3ah 12v SLA batteries and configured a switch (4 pole, double throw, centre off) so that the two batteries are switched in parallel .......

I remember seeing a really good website that chronicled all the McIntosh tube gear. There were lots of close up photos of mint tuners still showing the chasis lettering. This might help at least to u .......
