I use the cone feet designed for the VPI Aries (used 'em briefly on my HW-19 IV) on my '1200. I think, subjectively, that they clean up the mid-band mud and improve the bass. .......

Kewl. I just bought a Mk. 2 beater, had KAB add the 78 mod, and stuck an RB301 on it via the OL armboard. I'm still puttin' it through the paces. We'll have to compare notes! Hey Muzikmike, greetings .......

I know a few other folks have had this problem, but 'm wondering what the best solution might be. I recently bought a Rega RB301 with a CCM. I have a Stanton 500 with a 78 stylus. The CCM is too heavy .......

Let me put it this way: I sold a Dual 1229Q to someone after it had been thoroughly restored to as-new condition, and I got about $350. Personally, I'd take the Thorens over the Dual any day. kingbee .......

I'm assembling a second system to play mostly LPs, but some 78s as well. Amp is a Marantz 1060, table is a KAB-modified Technics 1200, and speakers for now will be Beovox S45-2. The arm is a Rega RB30 .......

I have the '19 Mk. IV (and a Mk. III also). Have you tried a SAMA? This, coupled with experimenting with the suspension (pucks vs. springs) and using some Aries feet, can up the performance dramatical .......

Your vinyl choices are very limited. "Reckoning" was culled from about 20-odd performances (the Dead did a straight run of shows at the Warfield), so you're getting the cream of what they did at that .......

I've lived in lots of places (currently northeast of Pittsburgh), and I've been to countless record stores in the US and abroad. IMHO, Jerry's is the best record store I've been to in the United State .......

I think it's worth the wait, however. There's nothing at that price point that can touch the Denon, unless you build something. Give it another week or two. .......

I ran this exact setup (NAD 302, 103R, and Denon AU-300LC) in a spare system for awhile. What they say about the little Denon stepup is true: it's an overachiever at its price. Don't shortchange the 3 .......
