Sadly I have to agree. The first PS Audio HCA-2 was.....shall we call it....unpleasant, to say the least. Not a fan, the upper registers were wiry and opaque. I usually latch on to reviewers that seem .......

Oddly, I haven't tried too many DAC's in the $1000-2000 range. My last DAC was a NuPrime Evolution DAC. Prior to that it was PS Audio, Topping, Schiit, among others. The Evo DAC was amazingly detaile .......

Long late bump, and my first post in probably a decade, but the Gustard X26 Pro DAC is stunning. I much prefer it to the NuPrime Evolution DAC I had before. Heck, my Topping D70S was not all that far .......

If you want to give Supra a try, go with the Ply 3.4/S (the shielded version) at about $100 for an unterminated 8' pair to see if you like the Supra "house sound", which to my ears is fast, uncoloured .......

I had a similar situation with a different CD Player. What I did to eliminate the noise is float the ground on the power cord to the CD Player, and left the ground wire hooked up to the power cord on .......

The only problem with introducing a warmth curve at this most critical juncture is the fact that the warmth added by a speaker cannot do anything else but have an obscuring effect, unless there is one .......

I don't know as well, but I avoided Wireworld for the longest time because I thought they were not competitive with the 'newer better' wires out on the market...I have the Equinox III's for a 2.0m run .......

I owned the Music mk2 for a while. Not the ultimate in resolution, but swapping the output coupling caps for better ones changes the sound greatly for the better. It is a good solid preamp worth every .......

Hi Frank, There is (IMHO) no one best amp at this (or any) price range. The best amp for your situation may not work for another person. Having said that, I recently picked up a new in box Bryston 2B- .......

I currently have mine on 24", but have found - like you - that this is sub-optimal. I listen at around an 8' distance and I am above the tweeter axis - and they are slightly tilted back (a poor compro .......

In my room at least, the GR's have much greater apparent extension. The Axiom's seemed to plump up the 80-100hz area slightly and roll off fairly steadily after that, but the GR's reach down lower hav .......

Just received mine on Wednesday. After finishing off my cabinets and assembling them, I've put 12-15 hours on them. Great little speaker! I find their clarity and soundstaging to be their strong suit .......

Paul, Actually, it was the sale of the Classe amp for a down payment on a house that led me to the Stan Warren GFA-5400. I am presently using a GFP-565 as a preamp, but am looking possibly to a passiv .......
