Just for the record, there are Electro Voice 1824M Drivers in these, not Eminence. I still do not know what brand the woofers or tweeters are, but they sound pretty decent. .......

I have a small amp that uses a pair of 6J3 Input Tubes. I was told that their equivalent was the 6SH7 Tube, so I ordered a couple of pairs, only to find out that the 6SH7 Tubes have totally different .......

The speakers I have have a 3 position level control on the midrange. One position is flat, one is +3db, and one is -3db. To speed up break in, I have been running them at +3db when I am running Pink N .......

These Audio Centron Speakers I recently bought had a bad midrange driver, so I pulled it and measured the bad driver, found out the EV 1824M Midrange had a blown diaphragm, so I replaced just that .......

I have a Rolls 12 db per octave electronic crossover, plus I also have a DBX Driverack PA2 that also has a built in electronic crossover. Unfortunately, these speakers do not have inputs for the drive .......

Unknown, at this time, but they work! Whatever they are, they are 4 ohms I have not actually put the speakers in my system yet, but I did test all the speakers with a 9 volt battery, and all work, or .......

You are correct about the aging capacitors in the crossover. And, to make matters even worse, Peavey used a Transformer to reduce the level of the 22A Drivers, to better match the level of the extende .......

The driver I provided a link to goes out to 8K and down to 500Hz. My Peavey CH 2 Horn looses pattern down that far, but an 800Hz crossover point will work. Any comments on this driver as an improvemen .......

Yes, the crossover provides for CD Equalization, and does have an Autoformer to reduce the overall level of the horn to better match the efficiency of the Black Widow driver, but there is no midrange .......

I have these Peavey Speakers. I have them biamped, and believe it or not, these Old Girls sound pretty darn good! These speakers use a wide bandwidth Peavey Black Widow that plays up to 800 hz wher .......

I have a Rolls SX 45 2 way electronic crossover. It is adjustable from 50 to 2500 and has 12 db slopes. My questions is, if it is a 12 db crossover, shouldn't you reverse the phase of one of the drive .......

Yes! I am well aware of the reputation of the Altec 414, so something is very wrong. Some of the guys on the Altec Forum actually prefer it, for it's outstanding midrange. I bought these Altec Malibu .......

Maybe because the woofer is direct radiation, it seems to play midrange better than front loaded horns I have had. These old girls have really surprised me, and quite honestly I prefer them to my Alte .......

These have the JBL 2441 drivers on the JBL 2355 Horn. I was reading that the Asian's use this driver in different horns, and cross down at 500 The Asians really seem to like the JBL 2441 I am thinking .......

I just bought these, the horn has a JBL 2441 driver on a JBL 2355 Horn The dual 15 inch woofers are also JBL's I guess I will need an electronic crossover with equalization for the 2355 horn IF it .......

I told him yesterday he is misrepresenting these speakers, and they are not MG 3a's. Maybe he was deceived when he bought them for re sale, but people are not stupid when it comes to old Magnepan's. P .......

Thiss is the ad for the speakers for sale. When I asked, he gave me the serial numbers, and I gave them to Magnepan. The serial number is 062 449 Magnepan told me they are NOT MG 3a's, though they are .......

According to Gary at Magnepan, the glue change started in 2005 So this means all 1.6 Maggies use the Old Glue A real shame imho. I had a pair of big MG 3's come apart on me years ago, and no one here .......

The Dunlavy SC IV's really surprised me, as far as imaging goes. Most very large speakers seem unable to "get out of their own way". Not these! They can get 3 dimensional, if the material permits it. .......

We use Sodium Hypochlorite, that is basically store bought bleach times 3 in strength. I have no doubt that bleach will remove the mold, but would have concerns about what it will do to the vinyl. :: .......

I agree Rick, I too prefer more of an east coast sound. Actually, some JBL's are quite good. The JBL 412 P's are an excellent sleeper of a speaker, and the little N 26 6.5 inch 2 ways are very musical .......

Yes, it is not the last word in a large space played loud. I also "torture" speakers to find their weaknesses, and I hear the gurgling at very loud levels. But, I don't listen for long at those levels .......

Cool Brother ! I found the sound improves by getting RID of that plastic decoration on the midranges. I removed it, so I could get the driver TIGHT against the baffle w/o cracking the plastic. I THINK .......

I have never heard that particular model. But most Cerwin Vega Speakers I have heard were bright, or very midrange forward sounding. Some, with the dual midrange drivers I just couldn't stand for long .......

I owned Kef 104.2's, those had a beautiful midrange. The 107's image very well, and will shake a room with the KUBE Equalizer. I just prefer the matrix 801's. The Matrix series tweeters are very quick .......

I have concerns with the 5000 model with the single 8 inch woofer.It has a wide baffle vs the narrow tower configuration of the 6000 and 7000 series. The SS F 6000 uses a pair of 6.5's vs the 2 8's in .......

I don't believe so, since there is a port on the front of the speaker. What I believe Sony is doing is using both 8 inch drivers for bass, and making one roll off mechanically or electrically so it do .......

I would try to buy used, local if possible. Freight will eat you up. Why don't you do a search for what you can buy used in your area in your price range, and run it by the guys here ? .......

The Infinity Primus stuff is good, for the money. The Primus 360 or 362 is a floor stander, and the Primus 150 and Primus 160 are stand mount or bookshelf. .......

I can only imagine what a big Tannoy must sound like ? I bought my pair of D50's used, they even came with a little center channel speaker, also Tannoy. It is about a 5" full range driver in the box, .......

The NON series 2 S Series from JBL are the ones you want. JBL put Greg Timbers, a well regarded veteran speaker engineer, in charge of the S Series. The S Series 2's had cheaper drivers, made in China .......

I continue to be amazed with the small, floorstanding Tannoy D50's I lucked into recently. The Tannoy D 50 uses the 8 inch Poly dual concentric driver, with a sweet metal tweeter. It is a tiny floorst .......

They are suprisingly good, if used with a subwoofer, and have a pretty decent center channel matching speaker for you, down the road. You may find them used for 100.00 a pair, and the used Infinity RA .......

In fact, many so called high end speakers would be laughed right out of the measuring lab. There are several good high end speakers, for sure. But there are an equal number of really good mass produce .......

Many do not turn the rear tweeter all the way up during break in. IMHO, w/o it's rear tweeter, the VR 4 jr is bland sounding. If the rear tweeter is not fully broke in, when you increase it;s level, t .......
