They still are. I have the XR70. It sounds fantastic through the digital inputs. All the old comments on these things still apply.... I can't find anything close to its quality for anywhere close to i .......

Nice setup! Thats a lot of speaker for such a small room. I bet mid-sized two-way setups like the Thiel 1.6 and the ProAC would sound fine in there. Even that speaker would sound great... It wouldnt .......

I totally disagree. The room size needs to be appropriate to the speakers. I have a (coincidentally) 30x30x10 room at home for my home theatre/main system, and it has been an endless disappointment. .......

Get a Panasonic Digital amp like the SA-XR70, SA-XR50, SA-XR55. You will not find a better sounding amp at that price range. (at least when using the digital inputs after a month of break-in) Do some .......

You can try Ebay. People sell drivers on there all the time. Also, I've found that most times, soft images are caused by incorrectly built crossovers. Double and triple check your wiring on the cross .......

Assuming the Fisher is similar the the Dynaco ST70, the ProAC Response 2.5 is excellent in a moderately sized room or smaller. The good part of the Proacs is that you can drive them with the 8 ohm ta .......

I bet 90% of audiophiles do the opposite. I believe that the amp and source is what gives you "high end" sound. The speakers may manipulate the frequency response to great degree, but no speaker is g .......

Well, actually they will work, but those are steel and require clips to attach. To avoid using the clips, I would need to drill some holes in the rim to attach them through the current speaker screw .......

At that point, I couldnt tell if the distortion was the audio or the speakers themselves. This would be a good test of an audio system to see if it is midfi or high-end. .......

Nice equipment. I would match to the speakers instead of trying to match to the other electronics. I find that the amp-speaker relationship is more important. ProAcs can sound very good with Tube amp .......

I thought that an impedance curve that drops to 3 ohms is considered a difficult load. (does that make it malignant?) :-) Im pretty sure that a speaker that drops under 4 ohms is typically considere .......

The V12 has a VERY high output impedance, and when you combine that with a very low impedance speaker, like a VMPS, this will cause some crazy fluctuations in the frequency response and flabby bass. T .......

Well, I would try a stronger tape first, maybe some duct tape or similar. If that still doesnt work, I'd say just go ahead a replace the driver. Its only $60, you will feel better about your speakers .......

I would not put a martin logan on tubes. Especially if the amplifier has a high output impedance. The impedance of the SL3 drops to 1.5 ohms at 20khz. If you put that kind of a load on a high impedanc .......

Kill Bill Vol1 had amazing sonics and a cool soundtrack... However, I think the movie itself is not for everyone due to the insane violence. (it's nothing but violence) I don't know myself, but I bet .......

I don't mean quiet moments. I mean that the overall level of the music is lower (quieter) so that the peaks are +30db instead of +5db over the average sound level. .......

Well, I used a set of NHT SuperZeros for quite some time, listening to all sorts of music. Now, granted, SuperZeros are about as mini as mini-monitors come. Anything above chamber music is kinda weak .......
