My all time favorite catridge was an Accuphase AC-1 (or AC-2). It was the one NOT reviewed by TAS back around 1985. IT was low output - used a Cotter Mk2L SUT with it. .......

I haven't as yet found my LP copy of Avalon, but my recollection is that it was a good, somewhat cool sounding, studio product. Very little multitrack studio product qualifies as "reference" in my exp .......
