Exactly. I use it in the same way everyday as you wish to. The battery is charged through the USB cable. I run a Mac Mini to the Nano to a tubed preamp via RCA. .......

I use Alpha wire sourced from Mouser in 20awg and 22awg. You can get it solid core with Teflon outer rated at 600v. It's easy to work with and my go to hook up wire though it's a little pricey. ::: TO .......

Mass loading helps and it's easy to try with anything dense and heavy. For feet, I've had good results with Herbies Tender Feet. They are equal to if not better than sorbathane and they will not loose .......

I've had a pair for around six months and love them. My amps are using the -76, 350v, 50mA, 5K operating point which runs them very conservatively. They are in daily use and haven't had a single issue .......

I agree. If your can't get the sound from the tube then adjust the amp to give you the sound you are looking for. I'm very happy with the EML 300B mesh in my power amps and the solid plates in the pre .......

Because it's easy to measure the null with the mic. Good point with being on axis. This works well with subs and it's worth trying at higher frequencies. .......

I have the JICO SAS stylus for a vIII and it is wonderful. The SAS has a specific tracking force range. I've stayed within it and haven't had a problem. I believe it is close if not the same as the vI .......

I raised by 19's 6" to get the horns at ear level. This improved the high and low end though they look bigger in the room now. Having the horns at ear level made a large improvement for me at least. .......

I have no problem with this though I've had amps that would pick up florescent bulbs near the system. Some pieces of equipment are more sensitive than others it seems. .......

If you have a decent budget, take a look at the slate plinths from OMA. I have one for my TD 124 with room for a second arm (my plinth is in the photo). Art Dudley has one for his MK II. It's heavy .......

I do. Much easier than moving 150 lbs speakers or rebuilding the crossovers which is the cause if the unbalance in the first place (spring project). I also use tone control and love the guilty pleasur .......

After your post I finially got around to setting up a cart using the cross talk method in the vinyl set up FAQ section. Very easy to do using The Ultimate Analogue Test LP and a DMM. Took about 30 min .......

Don't waste your time on these. IMO the Fostex midrange is painful and you are lucky to get 50hz at best in the bass and no top end. I sold these off and replaced them with Tom's 19s. Best speaker mov .......

I find the same with my BK 747. I test them initially, at a minute or so and for at least 5 minutes. It's interesting to watch the results as the tube heats up. Hopefully this isn't bad for the tube?? .......

I got a wild hair today and raised my Altec Model 19’s by about 4”. This puts the horns at ear level and clears a shelf built onto the wall behind the speakers. The difference was not subtle and makes .......

I did prefer the stock tip on my Zu103R to the SoundSmith retip. I've thought it was my set up that kept the retip from the sound it should be able to reproduce. Maybe the original just sounded better .......

You may want to consider that the Schick does not have antiskate and this is most likely the issue. Say what you will even a long arm needs antiskate with some carts though there may be an issue with .......

I made one out of copper pipe from home depot. Use a dremel and cut it down to size. Put a little Teflon tape on the edges. Wasn't pretty but saved me fro breaking the stylus, again........ ::: TOPIC: .......

I had a MP-500 and it didn't do anything better to justify the price than my Shure V15 III with JICO SAS stylus in my system at that time. I quickly sold the Nagoaka and haven't looked back. ::: TOPI .......

The TD124 is EASY to rebuild. Take a look at Steve's website (The Analog Dept). There is a nice step by step guide. I've rebuild my TD 124 twice and it only gets easier the more you work on them. ::: .......

Another vote for this cart. It sounds great and even comes with a headshell :) I also have a SAS stylus for a Shure V15 III but am so happy with the MM-1 that I haven't mounted it on my new table yet. .......

I owned one and sold it. It may have been the system at the time but I don't miss it. The internal stage of my McIntosh C22 made me happier and with tubes I can change the color of the sound (yes colo .......

Jim, it is probably in the tonearm ground, not the table. Mine does the same thing from time to time but I can lift the ground on my arm. You may want to clean up the ground contacts on the motor moun .......

hahaha, try moving from CONUS to Japan with Altec Model 19's and various vintage gear... It took nearly three days to pack the records, double box the electronic and crate the speakers and power amps. .......

I did with mine. Had it rewired by Discovery cables for less than what that company quoted you. Replaced the plastic knife edge bearing with one off of epay and use it nearly every day with a Shure v1 .......
