Hi All, I recently upgraded an older Jelco SA-750D tonearm to the NEW Jelco SA-850S. Question...The older Jelco arms indicated the stylus tip to be placed 52mm from the back of the washer on the Heads .......

Doesn't matter what turntable it came off of, this cart wasn't part of a package...not from a Mfg at least. I see writing on top of the cartridge under the headshell, would be interesting to know what .......

Well, this is indeed an Era IV cartridge. It looks like a "special" version of the V15 IV. I have an Era IV M97HE which has the curved front stylus grip while this one in the pic has the more V15 IV t .......

I got one...it's not half bad. I will say that you will want to use better audio cables, platter mat, and headshell. The table is well made. Mine has no platter wobble or loose tonearm bearings...unli .......

The counter weight is pretty close to the post as it is. It's well in front of the 1/2 way point. .......

That's what I was thinking. The Dennesen should not cause poor fidelity like I am getting. I have a couple of LP's here that sound AMAZING on the Orto, but everything else is just crummy sounding. ::: .......

I used my Dennesen Soundtractor, NOT the VPI Jig. I can try using the VPI tool, but it seems like the Dennesen would produce better results over the VPI tool...it's worth a try. .......

Well, as much as I wanted to believe that this turntable was going to be a great deal...it turned out to be a BUST. the Platter has excessive wobble and the Tonearm bearings are so loose that the arm .......

...what makes me think twice is the wow and flutter spec at 0.15%...That's bad for a Quartz Lock DD turntable. The Denon DP-500M shown earlier in this post had far better specs...but was still not all .......

If the DL-110 is not to your liking, maybe try an Ortofon. How about the Ortofon VIVO BLUE? Much more alive sound next to the Denon which to me has a more classic Hi-Fi sound and is not always right f .......

Well, I had a Music Hall mmf-7 a long time ago and I have to say, it was a GREAT table. Now, the 7.1 has been upgraded a bit. However, the VPI Traveler...to me...is just over priced. Really...$1,200 a .......

Well, that's not a low-mass tonearm. That is going to be a Medium Mass arm and as such, you should be looking at Medium Compliant carts. Not a fan of the Goldrings myself. On that arm though, the Blue .......

Yes, the quality of the Jelco arms are amazing. The 750D is really nice. Very little plastic is used on this arm over all. The fluid damper is an interesting design as well. Had this table been large .......

Another shoot... The SA-750D is an amazing arm with the DENON DL-103R. The table/arm/cartridge play together so well you wonder why no one offers a package like this??? .......

Well, it's all done and 100%. Got the Denon back the other day and spent about 2 days setting everything up...VTA, VTF, Anti-Skate. It was well worth the effort. The DL-103R with the SoundSmith Rub .......

Well, I got the Jelco SA-750D mounted on the Micro Seiki BL-21. Really very stright forward process. The Jelco comes with a nice plastic mounting template and locating pin that make it very easy! I go .......

So, LP Gear has asked that I send the stylus back for replacement *going out FedEx today*...my only concern is that I don't receive another bad stylus. Hopefully they can examine the tip for excesive .......

Well, the stylus itself is a nude diamond shank, but it's bonded to the cantalever as most styli are. They did indeed get a little slopy there. I'm just waiting for LP gear to get with it and let me k .......

No, it did not sound like this with the original VN35E stylus. It wasn't bright, but this SAS is producing a sound without any upper end at all. .......

Setup is everything! This is the model just below the VOICE and has a very fine line stylus that is sensative to VTA among other settings. You need to dial this puppy in just right to get the best out .......

Well, the dustcover is custom made for the Moonbeam. Hinge holes and everything. Also, the I-Clamp is a MUST on that table. If you use the moonbeam wihtout the I-Clamp, it really sounds harsh. I don't .......

Already did that richardl. Another poster also advised of changing carts to a nice Benz ACE and getting the same results, No slam or lower end. The Denon sounds GREAT, it actually sounds AWESOME on th .......

Well, I got the table yesterday and it is in MINT condition. In the original box with ALL the bit's n' pieces un-opened. Very nice. HOWEVER, the muting switch seems to be oxed up from years of sitting .......

I have never meet a 6100 that I liked. This was a table made by CEC and Marantz had their name plate glued on it and sold it for WAY more than it was worth... I have always found these to run about 1% .......

There are a few to chose from today. If you want NEW, the AT120E/t or the AT440MLa are GREAT values. The even better AT150MLX is also a good choice. The M97xE is a good value as well. However, High Co .......

Funny you mention the Opto lift and shut off feature...that was the best part of the TP-35 arm. My arm had a LOT of friction in the bearings so even with no anti-skating applied, there was resistance .......

AT did not change the stylus...The Stylus on the MLa is the same as the one used on the ML. The MLa has some slight improvements to the Cartridge innerworkings which improved the overall sound of the .......

I have found that the Orto Elliptical carts just sound RIGHT over the Fine Line and FG70 variants. I also found that before the 2M line, none of the newer Orto's could beat the VMS carts from the late .......

The New SHIBATA sounds a bit smoother than the Orto FG-70 stylus. I had the 540 MkII and found it to be too finiky in set up and particular about vinyl condition. The Shibata is a tad easier to set up .......

From personal experience, The LP Gear AT95SA is OUTSTANDING on that table. At $89.95, it's a steal of a deal with a Shibata Stylus! Avoid High Compliant carts (AT440MLa) as they don't do real well on .......

Yup, I have an LP Gear AT95SA as well which is the SHIBATA version of the AT95E. However, the AT440MLa is really sensative to VTA and it's about 2.5mm off. I gotta get that spacer to smooth this puppy .......

A lot of folks have reported on the AT440MLa on REGA arms but I personaly found that it sounded and performed best on lower mass arms. I tried one on a REGA arm and it was sensative to warps. However, .......

Both are good carts and have differnet qualities. If you have a nice LOW-MASS arm, the AT440MLa is the way to go. If you are using a medium or high-mass arm, the SHURE is going to be the better choice .......

Ya know, That may be a miss-print...because I have one that was bought exactly 7 days after that album went on sale and it is the brown label. I beleive that Fantasy changed their lable around 1971 fr .......

I take it the washer is to fill the cutout on the SOTA record mats that accomodates the label? Makes sure the record is not compressed to hard in the midle bowing it up at the outside edges? Joey1127 .......

I agree! I tried to use a V-15 Type III on the RB-300 and it was not a good match. Medium Compliant is best for that arm. There have already been some good MC listed, but for MM, give the AT95SA from .......

From my experience, I found that the MicroLine from AT on the AT440MLa, AT150MLX, and OC9 II sounded better than the Ortofon’s equipped with the FG stylus. I found the Ortofon 540 Mk II to be harsh so .......

I have a feeling this will be in the $399/$499 price point. The RM-4 that held that price point was droped for the NEW RM-5 which leaves a hefty price gap in the RM/RPM line up. The tonearm kinda look .......

This is a great deck when it works...but boy-oh-boy are they prone to break-down. Nothing beats a simple, no frills, BD turntable!!! If you want an automatic DD turntable, Technics is about the only .......

Hmmmmmm, Looks like a nice deck. I have not seen this model in the U.S. though. This may be an E.U. only model not slated for the U.S. Market. Note that there is no anti-skating on the tonearm. I'll b .......
