Posted by joaidferg on 2015-08-19, 02:16:56 (146.199.38.27)
I have searched the archive, but find very little posted on the improvements found between the 3.6 and the 3.7 or 3.7i(if any). I am considering going to the 3.7i and I would like to hear from anyone .......

I had an unpleasant shock the other day. Dreaded rattling from left 3.6. I feared delamination had crept up on me, but on investigating it was just the new REL S3 sub rattling the door behind the spea .......

I use Lyngdorf's "Room Perfect" DSP in a DPA1 pre-amp. I find it works well with 3.6's, it doesn't adversely affect soundstage. While it only works in theory to improve the bass, which it does, it als .......

The Inglenook fireplace is not the best backwall, but wouldn't work on the long wall. At least I could use a strap to the wall to stop movement. .......
5: Planar Speaker Asylum, RE: Has anyone gone the DSP (ala DEQ2496) with good/bad results? (0.00)

I tried the Behringer approach, mostly as a crossover. Fragile is best I can say. Now use Lyngdorf Pre amp with their "Roomperfect" DSP system. I also use the digital domain crossover, with 3.6's in t .......

I am bi-amping(3.6)with two pairs of M 300s. Started out with one pair on the bass only and valves(tubes to you)on the mid/hi. Due to hum problems with one of the valve amps that I couldn't fix, I bou .......

I used to run a pair of 120 W mono block valves for the mids and highs of my 3.6's, with a pair of Bel Canto M300 for the bass. Due to transformer noise I tried the M300 full range and liked it so muc .......

Very interesting, I agree with your initial thoughts. Maggies do produce the impression of a real musical performance in front of you, that is their quintessential point. I recently visited a local hi- .......

I am currently bi amping my 3.6's usig the active xover from a Lyngdorf DPA 1 and two pairs of Bel Canto M300's(Class D 150w at 8ohm). I am using very short lengths of heavy gauge silver plated speake .......

Does anyone know the exact 50/50 power point for 3.6’s? That is at what point, if you are using two identical amplifiers, with internal mid/high crossover still in circuit, but the external crossover b .......

You are right, up to a point. However the 3 series run with an active crossover, even on the factory suggested settings, needs two crossover points: 200hz and 250hz for high and low pass respectively. .......

AkuAnka has a point, Lyngdorf's own speakers are dipoles. I certainly did not expect the room correction to work with 3.6's, but it does to my ears. The system says it is making 20% adjustment only, s .......

I have read a few comments on the net on other forums(not sure which) about room perfect(using the RP-1 standalone unit) making the music lifeless. I certainly don't find that, on the contrary, I find .......

Sorry, just realised I hadn't specifically answered your questions. How does the DPA-1 compare to other preamp/DACs?-well firstly, it works on a regular basis which is better than the DCX2496! Compare .......

Just bought the DPA-1 after trying it out for two weeks. I had been using a modified Behringer DCX 2496 in an active set up, but it was frankly too fragile and temperamental. I initially tried the DPA .......

It is quite straightforward, the wires from the drivers have ringed terminations, so you can leave these on or take them off as you see fit. The panel screws off easily enough but you have to take car .......

For reasons which are too tedious to recount here, I've had to put the tin box back on my 3.6s. Unfortunately I found that, on one speaker, the top right input (mid/high) external collar with its lock .......
