In my experience the degree of sonic differences is nearly as great as the phono cables. I tend to favour thin cable dielectric for lower capacitance. Need to try it both directions. .......

I tried it at 33rpm last night I was pleasantly surprised. There was audible more airiness at the top and tightness at the low end. Imaging sound slightly more recessed into the back of the speakers. .......

If the stylus is not fully fitted onto the magnet body, the cartridge may not be performing optimally. Also, it helps if the cartridge is tracking at 1.75 - 1.8g .......

The DAC2X supports dsd streaming over USB. It's just plus top up the retail price difference of the new combo. Worth the sonic difference, vs the complication of an extra component to feed from ac lin .......
