I would but local files are on an internal HD on the PC, plus PC has backup system for those local files all configured. I don't want to move my library over to the Pi. Maybe there's a way to link to .......

Pretty much each day I have to restart squeezelite on my RPi running 8.2 PiCore Player in order to play music. I say pretty much since sometimes it works just fine. I'd say it doesn't work 5 out of 7 .......

And loading it as Dave described - with a 1:10 SUT into a MM stage at 470 ohms. It sounds wonderful. I tried loading with higher gain SUTs - a 1:13 and a 1:18 - but thought they missed some of the mag .......

I checked the diaphragms in both drivers last night and sure enough one is from 2005 and one is from 2010. Both appear to be aftermarket though I'm not entirely certain on that. So these guys will be .......

Perhaps I'm missing something but to compare why not simply convert the original file to another lesser format using something like dBpoweramp. Download a 24/192 or 24/96 file and convert it to 16/44 .......

It compares WAV to WAV when trying to do a FLAC to WAV comparison. It converts FLAC to WAV BEFORE playing the FLAC files. It's no wonder they sound the same! Jeff .......

Make sure you buy a moving magnet cartridge and not a moving coil. The platter of the B55 is magnetic and will interfere with tracking force (or worse) with a moving coil cartridge. Jeff .......

My vote is to upgrade the turntable first. However you'll need a phono stage since the NAD doesn't have one. Any phono stage is probably better than what's on the AT TT at present though. Look at Hag .......

You're really talking about two very good phono stages that are very different flavors. I wouldn't say there was a clear winner amongst them. The Stealth is highly detailed - particularily in the lowe .......

Haven't tried a weight. But I did find that some sort of vibration damping below the footers worked wonders on my jD9. Some folks recommended vibrapods; being a cheap ass, I'm using a old bicycle inne .......

You obviously like the Denon. However, most folks load the plain jane Denon at somewhere around 100ohms. I've even heard suggested loadings approaching 300ohms. It's system dependent I'm sure but it's .......

This is exactly what we do at work - all computers purchased with Vista are wiped and WinXP installed instead. BTW the 1420 is slower because it has SHARED DDR RAM. Certainly not Dell's fault. And Vis .......

What did you load the Denon at? You seem to imply 50ohms. If it's the plain-jane 103 I like mine closer to 100ohms. 50ohms for the plain 103, I imagine, would roll off the highs. This too would effect .......

I have two pairs of Groove Tubes - both test near 100%. I think it's probably more a question of in what system and where - tubes seem in general to be very dependent on what you've got running in the .......

This is a great tube in the Jolida. I've tried multi tubes in this thing and the Sovtek bettered everything so far. I liked 'em way better than the Groove Tubes. Also much better than Telefunken ribbe .......

I started out motorless and thought too, like others here, that I enjoyed the sense of control cranking by hand gave. It didn't take long to get old (maybe 2 months). The motor makes a huge difference .......

The plain-jane 103 should be loaded at 100ohms or above.....some say more like 150-200ohms. I like mine at 100ohms, but I don't have the capability to load it at 150 - my Jolida JD9 only goes from 100 .......

Henry: Yep, the GFP 565 is just a preamp - I realize I was missing the OP's original question. IMHO the phonostage in the 565 is right up there with the best SS phono preamps - very quiet, very neutra .......

You should be able to rip the CD layer. Not only that but with a computer, the right software, and a DVD burner you should also be able to rip the DVD-Audio layer off the DVD side of the disc and burn .......

OK perhaps this is it....the Cardas wire I bought was sleeved. I stripped the outer jacket and then removed the metal sleeve and then the teflon tape sleeve for the wire going through the arm tube its .......

Thanks..."woofer pumping" yielded more results than my search for other terms. I have a clamp (though a modest KAB) and have never really felt that this little bugger would cure a warped record...can .......
