Another option might be to get a sub with a high pass filter. The JL "E" series has this. Something I'm considering. I've heard the crossover in the JL is quite good. I haven't heard it directly. Simp .......

I know there is plenty of declicking and dehissing software for PCM, but is anything available (and not cost prohibitive) for DSD rips. I've got a Tascam DA-3000 that's capable of producing DSD rips. .......

If you want to stay in the same sonic family, you might want to check out a First Watt J2. I've had Tom Evans gear in the past, their preamp and phono stage, and I'm very fond of the J2. .......

I've got an EAR 868 which is the most rocking preamp I've had in my system. But it just seems that as you dial up the snr, you lose the emotion of the music. I used to have a nice horn set-up but, eve .......

If you can bump it up to abt $4k, I would highly recommend the Audio Horizons preamp. Dead quiet. I can put my ear right next to my speaker (90db) with zero noise. Aside from being quiet, it's the bes .......

You might want to do a search on ZH270. It's the David Berning amp which is used by many with Merlins. It's one of the more popular amp/Merlin combos and you can run it direct from cdp to amp without .......

Yeah, it's crankin' now and I'm worried abt the neighbors' eventual knock. They are generally very accomodating, but this has turned into the sorta vinyl moment that I've seen referenced earlier but .......

There are precious few cables that don't sell for abt 50% of msrp in the used market, especially in today's economy. The Valhalla's seem to be holding their value and they go quickly in the used marke .......

I've had mine for a couple weeks now and have abt 150 hours on it. At the expense of perpetuating the hyberbole, my experience has been consistent with others'. I'm abt to embark on some tube rolling .......
