I've read that those amps are soft sounding/have flabby bass. Have you not found that to be the case? .......

I actually sold my LSi's for way too cheap (on Craigslist). I wish I had kept them because I think they'd work much better in my new house. My old problem was an extremely small room...not a problem a .......

Fair enough: Budget means something in the Epos ELS/M5, Usher S-520, Totem Mite, etc...I guess something that can be had used between 2-400 dollars. They will be used for music, but no "sitting in the .......

I've used the amp with Epos, Polk, Paradigm and Tannoy and only the Tannoys had this closed in top end. I think it's the monitor. I've looked at that Audio Note. I'd certainly add it to the list, but .......

thanks for the link the light bass on the tannoys is actually making the room tolerable, it's just the closed in top that's bothering me. i'm guessing it's the tweeter, but maybe the room can do this? .......

reading through the archives here, it looks like the Rega bracket is the way to go for Rega tables. If I do upgrade, I'd probably sell the Rega bracket with the table, but I'm happy enough with this P .......

the room is basically a 10' by 10' square. There is a window behind/in between the speakers. Dry wall, carpeted. No furniture yet (other than a temporary chair....shopping for pull-outs/futons right n .......

...is the build quality. The transport is way to noisy for the flimsy chassis. A very heavy book and vibrapods are almost mandatory, at least in the sample I got (3960). That said, it's a great soundi .......

To my ear, the Polks sounded BIG and full with great bass before playing with the Rega. But I still felt the need to constantly move them around to try to find the sweet spot and get any sort of focus .......

Unfortunately, I don't have a decibel meter. I'm not sure if it helps, but I have to turn the NAD's volume knob up to around 9 o'clock for it to open up. It's not super loud at that volume, but louder .......

Pulling the speakers out so that there is less in between the fronts of the cabinets helped clear up the congestion and made the soundstage much deeper. I think this as good as I'll be able to do with .......

Thanks for the offer again, Merle. You're a very generous person. I moved the speakers towards the wall more, toed them in an inch or so and spread them apart another inch or so. That helped the bass .......

I work at a very well-known guitar manufacturer and Collings Acoustic guitars seem to be all the rage around here. I've never touched one, but I hear they sure are 'purdy in their tone. I have a mid 6 .......

I have a 5 year old PowerMac that still loads PHP bulletin boards just fine. It can be slower on dial-up connections, so a bare bones *option* (like AA's format, is a nice feature. I don't mean to co .......

The best cost:enjoyment purchase I've ever made was a pair of Grado SR-125's and a 30GB iPod. I plug in at work at 8:30 AM until lunch, and them I've got them back on until closing time. The open-ear .......
