In our previous hose, the floor was also slate, same stuff, but I did not have this bass issue. Room was 4x10m (13x32feet) mostly wall, much less glass, almost the same carpet in front of the speakers .......

I checked the phase and I agree, it seems to be cheaper to add a subwoofer than eaters remodel of treat the room. .......

When I listen, the rubber rolls come off! They go back on when I stop listening. That's when the speakers are unattended and the cat might damage them. I never leave them on when I listen .......

In that case speaker placement really IS the issue. This is the only feasibe wall along which I can place the speakers.To the right the wall consists of 6 mainly glass doors that open into the garden, .......

That door isn't used a lot. On the other side there is a room that's part of the kitchen, so mostly you go there via the kitchen. That glass wall to the right is actually a "wall" consisting of 6 door .......

Room setup. The picture was taken after I cat-proofed the speakers. Indeed they're downwards firing woofers and I would not want the cat to try and scratch the woofer :-) .......

IIRC the 1180DC has the same preamp circuits as the "real preamp", the 3250. If at all possible, personally, I'd want the restore the power amp part and get the 1180DC fully functional again. If not, .......

I used to have a logitech squeezebox touch but switched to simaudio moon 180 mind. Quite an improvement in sound. It's just a streamer, so you need a DAC. .......

I prefer FLAC as well. I use foobar2000 to rip CD's and store it on my Synology NAS. My simaudio moon 180 mind streamer gets the CD's from the NAS using DLNA. Works (and I prefer) wired as well as usi .......

Spectron musician amps. I had 4, they all broke down. I finally gave up. Shipping them back and forth between US and Netherlands is getting too costly, despite Spectrons' great service and sound. ::: .......

My cd player only takes coax, but it sounds just fine. More bass, tighter bass, so especially the bass improved. Furthermore even more detail and air. Those things were most obvious. .......

As much as I loved the SB touch, the Moon 180 Mind sounds a whole lot better. Sure it's much more expensive, but it sounds soooo good. It's rather new, so the iPad app isn't as stable as it should and .......

I've had the njoe tjoeb without upsampler for 3/4 of a year and bought the usampler as soon as it was available. I really liked the player without the upsampler. But the upsampler improved it a lot. M .......

I have a spectron MII and used to have a tube pre-amp (copland) Great combination. The spectron isn't sterile, but neutral. I didn't "need" the copland because the spectron was neutral, I just tested .......

In my case the upsampling led is slightly dimmer. I think they should both give the same amount of light. I wouldn't worry about that. The noise, that does sound strange. I'ev had this player for more .......

I used to use Dunlavy Speaker cables with my dunlavy speakers (and MII). I got the RS cables and they did make an improvement, well worth it. But I do agree with Jon L. Make your own! There's no witch .......

Just for kicks, I bought the clock and build Cuno's power supply, It works great (I put it in my backup cd player, an old Philips with a TDA1541). Changes are there, more detail, better bass. It does .......

The AH offset killer has a MOV in it, that'll act as a surge protector IF I'm not mistaken. BTW, the offset killer doesn't just kill hum, it also cleans the mains making things sound better. I noticed .......

Dunno about the MC20, but I use an MC20 superII with a "normal" RB300 on a gyrodec, and it's too heavy. The counterweight is at the end of the stub. Setting the tracking force to 1gr gives 1.8 grams. .......

I used a BIG toroid, put in in a nice aluminum case, a nice shiny led at the same hight as the Xcan, two outputs and a netfilter in the case, all for just about $45 I think. Had the same results! Jani .......

I only know the Copland, I use it with a Spectron Musician II (2000) If you're looking for added warmth, don't buy the copland, it's very neutral (but I like it). Hope it helps .......

Mine is two weeks old, with 150 hours on it. Out of the box, you can hear it's abilities, but it sounds a bit edgy and harsh, but the soundstage is great. It will improve after a couple of days, then, .......

I used to own one. Really liked it, for the money that is. It has a lot of oempff, is a fast amp. A bit on the warm site, no too analytical. At some point in time it even happily drove my Dunlavy Athe .......
