I have a VPI clasic 1. I started out with the 10x5. I have since gone to a Soundsmith Zepher, good improvement. Just remember it is a moving iron & you will not need a step up device, also the zepher .......

Have you heard Jim Taylor presents Johnny Guarnieri. It is a solo recording with him playing a Bosendorfer. It is one of those rare recordings with great sound & great playing. Bob Dickman ::: .......

I checked the switches & they were set on high gain. The volume is sufficient using the rca connections. I want to use the xlr connections. It seams to about a 6 db difference. Is this normal? .......

I recently bought a used standard maxxed out phono stage. It is about a year old. I am running directly to my mac 275 power amp. The problem is I am not getting enough volumn using the balanced connec .......

I like the sound of my ear very much. With the k&k I can use the balanced outputs direct to my amp then use the unbalenced to my pre for my other sources. Bob Dickman .......

I have the CD. Don,t think it as good as thier "Clear de lune". But I don't think anything is as good as that. No doubt the vinyl is better. Bob Dickman .......

VPI Classic is better in every way, bass, mids & highs. I am hearing details I never heard before like some one coughing in the forth row. But the rega was 25 years old. .......

I retired my planner 3 & replaced it with a VPI classic. I am using my old (1 year) dynavector 10X5 cartridge. Although it sounds great I am sure a better cartridge would even sound better. I am thin .......
