I helped design the crossovers for Hawthorne Audio and know the speakers well. The coaxial driver is 96 dB sensitivity, while the Augie is 89 dB sensitivity. The Augie will be way too low run without .......

I have the same tonearm mounted on a Rek-O-Kut Rondine B12. Horizontal tracking using a Grado Blue is very good. Severely warped records, though,can cause the stylus to jump right out of the groove .......

My ROK Rondine B-12's idler/speed change mechanism is complex compared to the typical belt change mechanism. I bet it would cost several hundred dollars to make just this mechanism today. It is simple .......

My Rondine B-12 has a round induction motor instead of square and runs very smooth. I do have a couple of motors that look just like the square one you have. If you can't get it to run quiet, measure .......

I would think that 1200 Hz is a bit low to be caused by the whizzer. Most whizzers have a mechanical crossover above 2000 Hz and contribute little to the sound below this. Of course, I've no idea what .......

Sounds like coupling caps. If they are still origional they are due to be replaced. If you're not experinced with this, Id sugest finding an older radio-tv repairman who is experianced repairing tube .......

Hadn't heard about the New Sensor 7591's. Did hear that Sovtek is making them, but that they are just a rewired 5881. Sovtek has a warning that they are not for use in Fisher 500C. I'll look into the .......
