because the first tube's (V1) plate resistance is in the equation in a passive RIAA. All the mentioned substitute tubes have different plate resistances so the curve will be affected unless you recalc .......

Since you tie screen to plate there will no screen current/voltage. Screen is now part of the plate.Resistor is there for noise(rf etc..) In most cases you don't need any resistors, just use a jumper .......

I only replaced coupling caps and this modification and using NOS tubes other than Philips 6SN7 WGTA's removed all the upper midrange glare,brightness and this is with no loss in details. New caps are .......
