Update: I took my Reed tonearm to one of the more well-known technicians in my area to try to get the cartridge clip soldered. Some of you would recognize him. Sad story, he was unable to do the job. .......

Thanks jebrider. I carefully looked at the wire, as much as I could see of it, under a usb microscope and did not see any breaks. I can't see what's underneath the clip though, so I am thinking Reed i .......

I owned a Cosmos IV and a stock Technics SL-1200 at the same time. Among the two, the Cosmos is clearly more refined sounding and is the better table. I sent the Cosmos to Sota for service five years .......

I think that instead of using the analytical/musical dichotomy, I should have said that one is more clear (SET) and the other more romantic (OTL), which goes against the stereotypes of these amps. ::: .......
