I believe, and it's been a while since I played with it, CDDB goes off of the track lengths and the number of tracks. There was never any title information or track names embedded in the CD format so .......

Sounds like pure conjecture based on a stereotype of DVD-Audio customers. Can't say I have seen numbers one way or another, though I'd certainly find them interesting. There was that post a while back .......

Not really, assuming a point source, (which has problems), at 4 meters away you're only down 12 dB. If you assume the contribution of the reveberant field is around 6 dB, probably a little over 115 dB .......

I've got an open mind, but I can't make the leap from one classical music title selling more on SACD than on DVD-Audio to no one is buying DVD-Audio. I think especially if you consider the market segm .......

Let's do a little math, assuming a 1K signal... 1 Watt = 87 dB 10 Watts = 97 db 100 Watts = 107 dB 1000 Watts = 117 dB and that's one speaker, Adding in the second speaker gives us another 3 dB, so .......

I am not sure about the full charges involved in producing a 24/96 disc, but I once tried to get a copy of the DVD-Video spec (24/96 is part of this) and just for the specification there was a 5K char .......

I haven't seen the kind of support for any of the high resolution formats which would allow it to live on indefinately. Vinyl survives because it is a format with great sound and a lot of cheap old vi .......

Just curious, I was in touch with them a few weeks ago and for my speakers whcih have a crossover at 120Hz, their recomendation was a tunde set of Satori shotgun. What frequency range do they consider .......

You'll probably want to spend more than 300 for the Pioneer and mods (getting the clock upgrade should probably be on your list of mods, which is over 200 by itself). This would lead me to suggest you .......

Assuming your figures are correct, I would guess the higher number of disc sales per machine for SACD might have more to do with the greater number of titles available and probably that they are aimed .......

I had Dan Wright of ModWright do his standalone and transport mods, put in bybees and an Audiocom SuperClock in my Pioneer 38A. The results were absolutely amazing! .......

A commercial CD burner has a much higher power laser than any you can buy for home use. Since the original spec for CDs did not take into account home burners, originally the read lasers were designed .......

The AX-10 was the first generation player and is built like a tank. The 47A in second generation and is built much more cheaply, but with multi-channel SACD support as well as DVD-Audio. Multi-channel .......

I don't know about TACTs, but I could tell the difference between the Pioneer 525 I had previously and the 38A I have now through the digital connections, but it was so minor that I couldn't hear it r .......

I have a pair of them I got with a set of used speakers. I used them for a while and found that they were pretty decent. They had good detail. They did seem to have a bit of a bump in the upper midran .......

I would guess that it is because you improved the amount of wire running to the speakers and thereby made it easier for the amplifier to control the speakers, improved the damping factor seen at the s .......

I have tried both with my system and I found that biwring was better than single wire and passive biamping is better than biwiring (can't afford the active crossover at the moment). On my system going .......
