"new Maggie .7s" I can't tell you much about integrating the sub so I will leave that to others. However, I can tell you that brand new Maggies will sound shrill and brittle for the first 25-30 hours .......

You don't really give us much to go on. What else did this "agent" say? It could be anything in the electrical path to, or in, the tweeter. He is correct, technically it can't be replaced. At least no .......

Yes, thanks much Roger. One each was broken of the "pin" connectors that Maggies use to attach the x-over box that are seated by those grub screws, and the opposite side with those dreaded screws. I f .......

The connectors from the x-over to the speaker and the speaker connectors themselves were torn off when I was in the hospital and a friend had someone come in and clean. AARRGG! Since I have to repair .......

I have worked in commercial broadcast radio most of my life. I still listen to some talk ... not so much after my buddy died. He was #3 in the country back in the late 80's / early 90's. I didn't know .......

Magnepan calls that burlap-ish like fabric the "Inner Bag" and it is stapled to the bottom of the MDF frame. You can "upgrade" your 0.5QRs to 0.6QR status simply by removing 40ft of inductor wire. ::: .......

Maybe I'm missing something ... why not just replace the aluminum wire with copper? If it's the aluminum antenna you're trying to solder, just attach the wire with a small screw & nut and then solder .......

My 2 cents: The Spin Clean is quick, convenient, easy, inexpensive and does an adequate job at *surface* cleaning an LP. IMHO the brushes are the design flaw ... they aren't really brushes and so don' .......

Thanks Marc, part of my thought process is to use Sporicidin in the SC wash and by doing 4-5 Lps at a time that gives several minutes of wet-soak time for the fluid(s) to do their thing before the vac .......

The "funky *ss" 8-track is actually a 1 track, or 2 track if stereo. Your correct in that it was used mainly for commercials, although some stations put music on them. They work just like an 8-track e .......

IMHO, someone will want them, but not me. They were widely used in the broadcast business, often mated to the Russco and QRK broadcast 'tables. A royal PITA to set up...the arm is balanced via headsh .......

Well... I wouldn't say that the MMGs are "hard" to drive, in fact, they have a very flat impedence curve. But they are a 4 ohm load and very current hungry. My NAD 216THX, at, what, about 150wpc into .......
