Having trouble understanding the basic design of a DAC. What is the I/V section of a DAC- what is its function. I have seen various non overampling DAC kits based on the 1543, 1541 and 1545 DAC chips, .......

Wow! lots of good info I think I will try the DIy paradise kit looks like a good one to get my feet wet with, I might try the 1541A kit after that and compare the two. Wish me luck Thanks for all the .......

I have not heard anything regarding RAKK Dac do you a link for that project? I have searched a few kits out there but I don't know how they perform here are a couple of links to the sites I have found .......

was looking for a kit that I could assemble myself, some support would be nice however not too important. I could even source all the parts myself given a parts list, but a schematic or actual picture .......

it all depends what signal your DAC is recieving. If you have a 24/96 DAC such as the MSB DAC III which is a 24/96 DAC and play regular 16/44.1 CD's then the DAC will use the 16/44.1 format. MSB does .......

Don't have any experience with the regular DIp without upsampling. But if your DAC is 24/96 then I would definetly get the upsampler model. Mr Poon at Monarchy Audio says that the Upsampler is better .......

you are right, I wasjust going over past emails with Dan Wright and it seems to verify that the diodes are in the stock PS. keep me informed as to your upgrade progress on your link. .......

I was given free some AD827JN LT1364CN8 and Burr Brown-627AP I tried the Burr Brown but they are not compatible without mods. so I put in the LT1364's haven't tried to slip in the AD827JN's yet perhap .......

Yes I purchased the Monolithic HC-2 power supply, it has made a big difference in bass punch and impact, highly recommended, I have also replaced the stock voltage reg's with 15 voltage versions, I in .......
