The Maag Mendelssohn 3 is one of my top 5 recordings ever. I wouldn't be without it as it surpasses any other recording of the Mendelssohn 3 out there. EVER. .......

My intro to the Mahler/Schumann was with the BIS set. Made for lighter orchestration of the symphonies. Clearer in many ways. The Chailly is on Qobuz, I believe. .......

I found the tempos slow, but not eccentric as in Pletnev's recording, especially the 1st movement. I would say, in a word, they are consistent throughout all 4 movements. I'm listening in 320 kps, but .......

No visible signs of rot or blemishes. I let the player rest, cleaned the disc, turned it back on and still "error." I bought mine at Tower Records in Koriyama, Japan. Methinks I have a bad disc. Won't .......

Notice I said the problem was also on my Marantz. That is the player I used first and noticed the problem to begin with. The Sony had no problems recognizing other SACDs that I threw in, just the Char .......

It won't play on my Sony DVP9000ES either. That is, the SACD light doesn't come on and it automatically starts playing the CD layer. This is obviously a SACD layer problem. .......

I own this player and was in a very bad situation when auditioning it. However, having played with it for over a year now, it is my opinion that the player is very warm sounding and not a bright piece .......

I bought it and I can say that a few of the songs are indeed good to hear live. I don't think it benefits so much by the hi-rez treatment, though. There really isn't anything coming out of the speaker .......

Actually, the dates you see on a Japanese cd is the date it is released in Japan and the second date is usually 2 years later and is the date they stop printing that particular pressing. .......
