I am using GR Research open baffle servo subs with Merlin TSM-MMe's. Yes, OB subs w/ a sealed main. Sounds crazy right? But works great. The OB servos are fast, articulate and musical. No bloat or ove .......

I dunno if the 2a xover is similar to the "c" but if it is (a simple 1st order design), the general idea given by Ed in the Tweeks page will work. The component values will be different, but just copy .......

I'd say no. I have the IIc, and had them rebuilt by the factory, then upgraded the crossover components and built custom truss braces for them. They sound just "ok". I think it was all a waste of time .......

Its time to move up from my modded 2c's. Though modded 1.6's are the obvious choice I am considering the GR Research Diluceo (MTM design w/ 2 Eaton 5.5" mid-woofs and ribbon tweeter) or the VMPS 626R .......

The binding post for the hi-level input are the kinda small cheapo type. You would have to use banana's, spades won't work. I think its probably better to use the low level in. I modded my old CJ pre .......

I have the BPS-150i. Used with modded Maggie 2c's run full range. I like it fine. Seems pretty musical....not a 'one note drone' sort of thing at all. The built in hi-pass filter is pretty crappy thou .......

Fantastic combo. Stan Warren modded aiwa changer and MSB Dac. Absolutely fluid analog sound w/ great detail. Blows the Ah!4000 away. At least as good as mega buck Accuphase. .......

I'm ready to upgrade from my 2c's. They were factory reconditioned and I upgraded the x0ver by using premium parts. They are very nice, though still some high end roll off. I love the big presentation .......

I redid the x0ver in mine by substituing equal value Hovland caps, splitting for bi-wire, eliminating the fuse and installing EP copper post. I used Ed Hsu's post on the 1.6 in the 'tweek' section as .......

ACI sells passive line level filters, either 65 or 85hz. They cheap too, something like $25/pair. 'course it won't work with a receiver, but those 1.6's deserve better anyway. .......

Well I love the D1x, but Nikon View is a buggy piece of garbage and Capture not much better IMO. Capture takes forever to process RAW format images even on a 667mhz G4 Powerbook. (200MB RAM allotted!! .......

Yes finding the break is the tough part. Try backlighting the panel, so the wire stands out more clearly. The fix is to put a tiny piece of aluminum foil over the break and hold in place with a slight .......

If you do eliminate fuses and happen to burn a tweeter VC, and easy fix is to put a tiny piece of aluminum foil over the break and hold in place w/ a slightly larger piece of mylar tape. .......

I have a pair of Stratos Monos on my moddified 2c's and love them. They're a steal @ $1K apiece, and you can demo for 2 weeks. Let 'em burn in at least a day though if you try them. If current is what .......

I tried the Kimber 4/8TC biwire with my 2c's that have an Ed Hsu inspired crossover. I thought they sounded harsh, and veiled. Switched to my old Straightwire Music Ribbons for the HF, and much improv .......

I stumbled across a site (northcreekmusic.com) that sells DIY speaker kits and components. They claim they have the best caps on the market and they are WAY cheaper than the Hovlands I just installed .......

How about a dab of Silicone II just on the u-turn part? I know we don't want to add mass to the panel, but since this is on the extreme ends, maybe it wouldn't hurt. .......

What do you mean by fix? Repair blown panel or tone down overly bright sound? I had my 2c's rebuilt by the factory to replace loose VC wires, then moddified the x-over myself. email me if you want det .......
