Iirc, Audionote bought the Systemdek designs from the Dunlop brothers many years ago. Their TT1 looks like an offshoot of the Systemdek IIX. If you google them, you realise that the platters share man .......

The Ariston RD 11 was built by Castle Engineering, a company owned by Jack Tiefunbrun (Ivor's father). If you look at a very early LP 12, it is exactly the same as the RD 11. Iirc, when Hamish left, .......

Oui et Oui. You should get new springs and grommets (Nirvana upgrade of long ago) for both decks. Then you can set them up and compare. RD 11 are so rare lol. I haven't seen one since the early 70's. .......

To my knowledge, ARC amps are not auto-biased and any problems can occur if that procedure was not completed. You must re-bias the amp before passing judgement on these tubes. .......

all tube amps do that, ss too! has nothing to do with blackgates. when the power supply is fully charged, it can withstand power line fluctuations better. if you like changing tubes every 4-6 months, .......

i have raytheon ck6922 which are not gold pin. but i still think it's a 6922 and it dates from 1962. they are not the only ones to have made a steel pinned 6922 i believe. .......

if you did all the tests on your tester, you'd know if it were shorted or gassy. why not plug it into your tester for an hour and retest it, it may have died before the hour elapses. at least, plugged .......

well, jeff was nice enough to send me some cables to sample! went to my favorite shops and compared the boo jr ic's against far more expensive esoteric cables! came back home all smiles! poth cable ha .......

fine line stylus assemblies dig deeper into the groove than a spherical, conical or ellyptical stylus. therefore it tends to exhibit less surface noise. otoh, you better make sure you set up the cartr .......

i've never heard a system sound anything close to live music in my life. and even then, most live music takes place in bars with bad acoustics, hockey arenas, football stadiums... even concert halls h .......

you'd be hard pressed to find a better turntable than the dual cs-505. just a good piece of gear worth every penny and can be had for under 100$. that was my fave in that price range and 20 years late .......

have an lp12 with armageddon and cirkus. i met naim people at montreal show and they told me they liked the lp-12 with the old bearing better. too bad i had the cirkus done before i got the armageddon .......
