What do they test for? Capacitance, Resistance, EMI Rejection, RFI rejection, cross talk? What ranges do they find with these? How do different materials affect these? (I.e., Teflon, rubber, cottons). .......

I agree totally with that. I got my XX2 for 900. It had few hours. A demo at a B&M store. Great for the price. I would not want to pay full price for it tho. It is not that much better than the 20XH : .......

I had a KT88 go bright red and then the amp blew a fuse tonight. I replaced all the power tubes and the fuse and it is working fine. Is the tube that went red the (only) bad one? Anyone know anywhere .......

There are four inputs and two outputs (all RCA). The second output can go for a sub or biamping. The volume knob does turn when you remotely change the volume. I use it very often to get just the 'rig .......

You might find the Genelex Gold Lion KT88s a much better sound. I did anyway. Also the 304B is EL34 based so I'm sure it sounds quite different. .......

Thanks for the review. I have been using S4 V2 since they came out. With the Paradigm stands made for them. I love them. And am not looking to replace them. They sound much better to my ears than seve .......

I think for that price you may be able to get the Paradigm S2 Signature Fronts. I think the Signature are much better sounding than the Reference series. And they have a very nice front speaker to add .......

Yesterday I put together a set of 470 ohm and a set of 1000 ohm loads for the JLTI. They both sounded better than the 100 and 33 I had been using. I believe I will stick with the 1000 ohm. But the car .......

The JLTI has 55 dB gain (independent sources claim 62 db) and I have tried the 47K standard as well as 33 ohm and 100 ohm resistors plugged in to change it. Any suggestions on other loading or ideas a .......

I'm not using a step up transformer if that is what you mean. The JLTI has just enough gain for the amp. With the 20XH the knob is about noon. With the XX the knob is about 3pm. Prehaps with a SUT I w .......

I was expecting quite an improvement when I brought the XX-2 home. I did not get it. The XH has a slightly better soundstage and is more 'engaging' than the XX-2 Maybe I just haven't found the perfect .......

...here has a method to set it by multi meters. If you don't use that then I would advise using your ears. That should coincide with your eyes if the stylus is 'upright'. Regards, Jerry .......

I think any discussion of a cartridge without including the tonearm is less useful. If tonearm, mass and compliance makes up so much synergy its no wonder we have differences of opinion when we don't .......

I have had Titans, Studio 40s and now the Signature 4s. They all seem to me to have a similar balance between the highs, mids and lows. I find B&Ws also have a similar balance in their line of speaker .......

Setting azimuth is not simple. At least with two multimeters. But, for me, it is the only accurate way of doing it. As your soundfield is large your azimuth must be close. If it was off the crosstalk .......

Are you certain your azimuth is set correctly? I set mine using meters (per Fermers DVD) and it made a big difference. I have a Scout/9"JMW/DV20XH. I am using a JLTi phonopre and the soundstage is tal .......

Have you switched positions to see if it is the tube or the tube position that is causing it? I'm interested. My EI ATs flash on every power up. The colder the tubes are the brighter they flash. Regar .......

I always turn my amp on last and turn it off first. That should eliminate the pop. I think. I don't turn my JTLi off. I did turn the JD9 on before the amp. Regards, Jerry .......

The JD9 should not be making a loud pop. Do you lower the volume and shut the amp off first? I like my JD9 and think it is great for the money, but I'm surprised it compares that favorably to the Ear. .......

If you like them, get them. It would be great if you could try your amp with them also. For me the 40's with stand gave me great sound. And quite a bit cheaper. If you can listen to the 40, 60 and 100 .......

Using a dense foam and cork mat on my new Scout. Doesn't sound worse to me yet and is easy to lift the album off safely. Also it just doesn't seem right having the hard vinyl on the hard acrylic. Seem .......

Another thing to watch is that the RTH-8568 has all 12 songs and the RTH-8568-1-R only has ten songs on it. And for me that is very important. My favorite is one of the ones missing on the 10 song alb .......

as far as hours go. I have read the Grado is rated at 1000 hours. Last claims up to 10 times the length of time before wear occurs. Not sure I believe that but I did use it for about the first half of .......

It's only happened once so far to me out of over 1000 albums. I bought a second copy which has a slight warp but plays well. I'll probably buy a third since its not rare or expensive. (461 Ocean Blvd) .......

I love my 502B. I found the EH-KT88's and the Sino KT88-98's to both be an improvement over the stock 6550's. And I prefer the Sovtek 12AX7LPS over the stock tubes. Good listening any way you go. I fe .......

I have used the EH KT88's and the Sino KT88-98's in my 502B. They both sound much better than the stock tubes and I have had no failure problems yet. I have around 400 hours on the EH's and maybe 250 .......

I have the P3/RB300 with a Grado Platinum Refernce and have tried both 2 and 4 mm spacers. I took them out as I like the sound better without any spacers added. I also tried a couple of different mats .......

I have a Rega P3/RB300 with a Grado Platinum Reference. Where exactly did you put the shim? Does the tonearm have to be lifted off? Just trying to visual what I may need to do. And what was the McMast .......

I use a plastic 'lazy susan' and a piece of cardboard about 13" diameter. Drilled a hole through the center of the lazy susan and stuck a bolt with washers through it and the cardboard to hold the LP. .......

Yes, Sound Exchange is good. Corner of Hazard and Richmond. But...from the pricing they do have a pretty good idea of what their stuff is worth. All nicely packaged also. But no 'cheap finds' like Goo .......

I auditioned the 502 and the 1501 overnight. I found both have plenty of bass, for me. I can adjust my bass easily with speaker placement. I bought the 502 because it sounded better to me. Not a lot o .......

Both of my EI 12AT7's flash when powered on in my Jolida 502B. The longer they have been left off the brighter they flash. If I turn the amp on and off 2 or 3 times a day by the second day the flash i .......

I changed out EH6550's in a Jolida 502B with KT88EH's. Sound is fine. The KT88's made a very noticable improvement in the bass and some in the high end. Though they are a 'matched' set one tube runs n .......
