The DIFILM caps are pretty good. You can always test them and if the ESR is high or their value have drifted, replace them. .......

They only used them in the very late versions (10000 serial number range), and they are of the DIFILM variety which are mylar. Those are less prone to leakage than the earlier bumblebees. .......

Yes, I think it would be extremely expensive and time consuming to fake hundreds or even thousands of tubes at a time. Convincingly. This was Upscale's point when someone was questioning that massive .......

The Marantz 9 runs the tubes conservatively at 55 ma with 440V on the plates. The output tubes last a long time on it. I have been running two quads of NOS Mullards and the getter flashes look nice an .......

I think the least expensive iFi USB conditioner (the one that fits directly into the back of the DAC) is ideal. It would save me from buying another cable. I am using Audioquest Carbon. .......

Each unit was painstakingly hard wired and military laced throughout. Marantz used the finest parts when available, for instance 2 watt mil spec pots instead of run of the mill 0.25 watt consumer type .......

You are fortunate to able to align the FM3 yourself as Dynaco made provisions for it. No such thing for the 10B however... I sure hope the discriminator and MPX are aligned sufficiently well on my uni .......

That's what I like about it. The arm is unlike anything I've ever seen from Japanese makers. It looks a lot like a SME derived design. They call it "distributed fulcrum" tonearm or something like that .......
