I did not measure the tension.I failed 2X's before ,i got it right.!st & 2nd time it was too loose. I more and less did it by feel .And the areas where it was a little softer .I use heat gun .Real qu .......

I totally successfully replaced the whole mylar film on 1 of mine.I dont recommend it but can be done . http://www.audioasylum.com/cgi/vt.mpl?f=mug&m=145320 .......

The mylar is .0005 of an inch.Almost as thin as your hair.and has a tensile strength of 25,000lbs/inch This is where i got mine from. http://www.grafixplastics.com/plastic_film.asp .......

The wood came off a futon bedframe that some1 threw out.I told you ,I am low budget.LOL.I think the wood id dark oak.It is extremely solid and very hardwood.No stain was used that is the wood natur .......

Mr.Gunn I will look up the site where i bought the mylar.It is the same .0005 of an inch as magnepan uses .Is that correct?I also believe this company offer a few types of mylar for different implica .......

As far as the mylar goes.Only if you are going to throw your speakers in the garbage ,i recommend in attempting.And know you will 90% chance of failing.i did 5 times out of 6.But they were experiment .......

http://www.mcmaster.com/# here is where i bought the .0005 Mylar.6 bucks for 10'x27".you can do 4 Smga with that.In my case on 1per 2rolls.Lol.But I think I got it right this time.that jig worked g .......

If you look at the pic. above I had already glued 1 side.And let it dry(2 part epoxy).on the jig,you can't see ti .but the side where it is touching is 1/4" higer then the top.top is lower on that .......

so far so good.It is drying with weight on top .30 min epoxy.Im a nervous wreck,why did i not buy a faster drying epoxy?lol .......

I hope they do out perform my self built Lascala's.So far with the k-43 sub and Bob Crites xo's they won over every thing else that passed thru here. The Wharfedale Modus 8 came close.so did the O .......

i made 1 with 1/4 inch masonite.with nails and rubber hose over nail.So that when you attach center to the ends you can pull the end of jig easily.because it is wrapped around a little piece of hos .......

Can you picture the mylar being attached tightly 1st to my frame jig?then place magnet board face down with epoxy on its frame to the mylar.Then board on top ,then add weight until dries. I Thi .......

The tubes in my amps are SovteK el34's.I think the 34 are better sounding the the 66'I also had 34's in my Mcintosh MC$).I n which I sold because these actually sounded better in the Bass field.But .......

The bias is new and all the tubes are new less then a year old.all sockets were changed.even has normal speaker terminals and heavy duty plug and wire.Also the transformers were rebuilt and repacked.I .......

they have all new everything tubes are el 34 how much are these worth?the sockets ae new and transformers were rebuilt and repacked.they sound great it was between the MC30 and these.the mc30 went .......

these are 100% TOTALLY REDONE AND UPGRADED.diode bias,tubes caps all been repalced and modified.Even the transformer been repacked.all tube receptacles are new even has a on/off swith.those germaan .......

I know this now,thanks But i have idea.If you build a frame large than the magnet frame and attach mylar to the larger frame first.The lay the magnet board with adhesive around its frame face down .......

OK Round 2 After i removed the old Mylar and metal strips.I had to build up the frame,because the epoxy pulled up some of the paper on the old frame.And I'm sure the height difference would effect .......

I experimenting with it atm.I think if I arc the magnet section.And attach the mylar 2 the sides when I staighten it out it will stretch the mylar giving it tension.But I may be wrong.Like I said I ne .......
