Anything you cull out can be sold via Craigslist or a local facebook buy sell swap page. Common stuff in beat condition, send to the landfill or find a local crafter who's making clocks, bowls, etc... .......

The cleaning is not so bad. Although I have a wet/vac RCM that I use for cleaning LPs, I wash 45s and 78s in the sink. Far faster and from doing listening tests (RCM versus sink wash) just as effectiv .......

All of my LP's are filed alphabetically by artist and chronologically. 45s and 78s alphabetically by artist, then by label and cat. number. So, it rarely takes more than 20-30 seconds to find anything .......

I have done thousands of transfers from tape, vinyl and shellac to WAV. I've used Click Repair many hundreds of times. Unless you max it out to the highest settings and have no clue what you're doing, .......

You could transfer the record to a WAV file and then use "Click Repair" or similar software to remove the clicks & pops. It won't fix the scratched record but, if done well, you'll have a cleaner soun .......

My favorite cartridge & stylus for playing 45s is the Ortofon Concorde (or the standard OM cartridge) equipped with the D25M stylus. The D25M is a 1.1 mil conical and when summed to mono and tracking .......

Good that it's 78 RPM capable and has a detachable headshell. The cartridge on there will not produce good results with 78s. You'll risk damaging the cartridge and/or the records. You'll need a proper .......

Value of albums? It can vary considerably looking at original pressing versus reissue and of course condition is critical. Collectors frenzy compiles actual auction results and will give you an idea. .......

I used a Beogram TX-2 linear tracker for years. My TX-2 was beautifully designed and an excellent performer. Absolutely impervious to vibration and footfall. Hands down the best-tracking turntable .......

The delrin pad was a quick google search and up pops a link to Ebay. The replacement belt I bought (through KAB Electroacoustics) measures 0.025" thick, so no love there... .......

Direct Drive certainly rules in my house. In my studio, I use a Technics SP-15 and a Technics SL-1200MK5 with many mods. Both are 78 RPM capable and I can easily play any of the records in my sizeable .......

I agree. I bought a modified KAB SL-1200MK5 about 9-10 years ago, with 78 RPM mod. With both 78 RPM and the standard pitch control, it's an excellent turntable for spinning 78s along with LPs and 45s. .......

I have about 9,000 78s and I love the format. I use a Stanton 500 summed to mono with seven different styli for 78s and I also own the Audio Technica MONO3/SP. With those cartridges, I use a VTF of 5 .......
