Interesting that you mention the Gibson ES Series...some of my favorite sounds come from Jorma Kaukonen and Porl Thompson. I've never tried one on for size, but just wondering if it won't bee too big .......

Had a closer look at my BFPR...it came with a bias pot and a 5AR4 rectifier. I evaluated the 6V6's and observed the pair was well out of balance. A matched pair of EH 6V6's serve in the meantime. ::: .......

Acknowledged. Replacing out-of-spec components would be the conservative route. The seller observed in 25 years of owning this amp...he had NEVER replaced the tubes. It'll be interesting characterizin .......

I'm using four Silver Edition MA-1's to drive my Dali MegaLines. Ralph's gear/circuits will readily respond to variants of 6SN7. I'm also using an MP-1. I wish all my sources were 1/2" master tapes :- .......

Yeah, the Airtech and Wisa are in another room...along with my RTR. If worse comes to worse, I'll run air through approximately 20' of 3/16" ID vinyl tubing. Hopefully, that will resolve the ET2 opera .......

no to either proposition. Particularly, I don't contemplate audio components as *investments*, albeit I do consider resale value when preparing for purchase, either from a dealer or seondary market. : .......

I'm using a 25' run of Mogami Gold Studio for Microphones between my RTR and pre. I have a couple of 1 and 2 meter pairs about as they were supplanted by AudioQuest Sky 72DBS XLR's. Hope this helps! : .......

I, too, am of the House of Ike :-) I remember two of the associates, Bob and Gary, who were later joined by Steve and Jeff, I believe. The techs working on mods were Gabe, Brian, Chuck, and Steve, IIR .......
