Borrow a DAC to try if you're unsatisfied with current sound because of the DAC now, just make sure you know why you're doing it You have a tv with toslink/optical out? a Topping DAC could go there to .......

Those are supposed to be quite good real pricey in Canada thou. The pre is reminiscent of of earlier Yamaha models front panels a bit .......

Yes the Matrix 801 II and III's were good still are heard a few incarnations over the years The matrix 804's moved B&W out in front a bit I have used the Matrix 804's, 803 II's, Matrix 805's Currently .......

Have owned a few of them Some (I don't know all the models) of the new stuff to me is accentuated top end or peaky. Some people consider the DM, Matrix series liveable .......

Remember a big factor is the room, how far back you are sitting to. The level you listen to as well. Some people never listen at concert level others may want to turn it up once and awhile Lot of spea .......

Yours has the Matrix braced interior cabinet I had my last pair of 804s till last year then went to 805's Try listening to some different speakers, take your time The 804's while aging are formidable .......

No I don't have that Schiit but I use a Modi 3 an Sag S with Parasound A-23+ and B&W 805 S plus other connected equip I feel like a pig in Schiit .......

Been using one a few days...... Saga S VERY good and NO Hum compares to more expensive stuff way easily Can't go wrong Also got the Schiit Modi 3 DAC to get digital off TV rear to analogue RCA's into .......

As of a couple of years ago they had stock on that stuff You have to register on the site and someone gets back next day I believe with an answer and pricing .......

Carefully swap tweeter to other speaker see if it persists if it does just order a new tweeter, remember the wiring They probably have a spare or two left if your're lucky .......

No not the same speaker at all low limit on SC1 is 80hz. On 805N its 56hz Slight difference in efficiency and nominal impedance as well .......

Don't think it matters as much as placement and how it sounds in a room the final dictator of sound. You hear a speaker at your friends, the dealers but you get it home and sounds not as magical or ma .......

Yeah cost a lot if tweeters go south........ hard to say whats left in other parts I never looked. Not worth paying to much but a lot of people never go to manufacturer's website or contact to check c .......

For years my woman likes to put birthday cards and any crap in front of the tweeters on my B&W's. I feel its done almost deliberately. I now wont allow at all period. Its a females way of marking her .......

I had contacted B&W speakers and they stated at that time its a no. They had never heard of this. They stated the only way for ferrofluid to dry out was to leave them exposed to air the diaphragm off .......

I must confess to not using a center channel either but I don't do any dvd movies(don't own player) only off the tv/fm stuff. Listen to more music methinks. Have 2 fronts mains,2 surrounds,2 rears. Us .......

Those ones look pretty hard to correct so the value of the speakers is somewhat compromised. Always other B&W small speakers about. I'd pass if it was me. .......

I wouldn't conclude thats a valid asssumption I have used those for years with the wire end soldered into the jack end. I like the plugs for the convenience and ease of removal and reinsertion Just ge .......

Maybe they got burned out or overdriven damaged whatever who knows? .....only the person that removed them from the cabinet top and harness knows I would pass on such "sales" No way to know if for exa .......

Keep watch on the for sale forums and not the ones for speakers also. You may luck out. Ebay is a gamble but you never know. Another decent but older batch of B&W's is the DM2000 or its older big brot .......

I use 4 Matrix 804's(2 on main-front, 2 on surrounds with a pair of 602's on the rear's I have debated going to smaller stuff for more room but hold off wondering if the sound will equal the Matrix 80 .......
