If you can find one, the nOrh CD-1 is amazing (~$700). Best I have heard under $10,000. They are rather hard to come by though. .......

Dual subs sound great if they are matched well to the speakers and crossed over correctly. One of the main things that I found was that for listening to music you can't use a standard sub plate amp. 9 .......

If you are planning on crossing over above 65-70Hz I would suggest dual subs. When you start getting up into that range it gets easier to distinguish non stereo bass. I use an active crossover with my .......

Have found that is generally not a good idea to break in caps in equipment other than what it will be used in. In my experience they always sounded muddy if "pre-burned" in other equipment. I myself d .......

I can get vinyl laminate about 5' wide. Send me a picture of what you are looking for. The full wrap around might be a bit difficult though. Quite frankly I don't think it will work. Better off doing .......

The Y splitter will work. Had mine set up like that for a while. Not as open a sound as with an additional input though. At least in my opinion. Putting the second output in is really not a big deal. .......

The capacitor I am looking at is huge. About 24 inches long and 4 inches wide. It says it is rated for 255 mmf. I have never seen this measure before. What is that converted into a more common measure .......

With the tube out there is no buzz. But with the tube out there is no way for signal to get to the output. Buzz does not follow tube. Stays in the same amp. Thanks though. .......

After much consultation with Wendell I believe I have found what was causing the large plate voltage drop. The wire-wound resister between 5 & 15 should be rated at 270ohm. Mine was pulling 1.089Kohm. .......
