Yes, you can turn on the noise blocking with no music playing. If you truly have no interest in music, movies, etc, then plugs or obviously way more cost efficient. .......

I have had good success driving my LCD-3S with an ALO Continental. It is a portable tube amp and out of production. Their solid state portable, the RX Mk3 sounds great with them. At home I drive them .......

I don't know that I would characterize it as warm, the way tubes are, because that make it sound colored. It sounds real the way my ARC equipment does and sounds effortless when the music's dynamic .......

I have a Schiit Lyr with which I'm very pleased. I use it to power my Senn HD600's and my new Audez'e LCD-3's. Both sound wonderful. I've no experience with Marantz, so I can't compare. ::: TOPIC .......

Back in the late '60s, I used to repeatedly join the Record Club of America to get the 5 LPs for $1 or whatever the deal was. I would then take the records to local stores and swap them for things .......
