How do you wire this cable? There are 3 conductors. Normally in a balanced cable there are 2 conductors plus a shield. Here there are 3 conductors plus a shield. .......

Is it possible to swap an XLR socket that is mounted to the PCB and replace is with a socket that is not made for PCB mount? Most of the audiophile XLR sockets are not PCB mount. .......

The conductors are insulated with PE. The outer jacket is PVC. You are right though, PVC insulation tends to kill the highs. .......

I have only tried the Viborg unplated copper with this cable and Furutech FI-46(G). I used the Viborgs just to compare the cables, so that I did not ruin the Furutech connectors by possibly stripping .......

The combo of the Copper Harmony and Mogami 2497 is simply amazing. It seems that all the Mogami cables with CPP(cellular polypropylene) or CPE(cellular polyethylene) sound incredible in all aspects. T .......

I forgot to update this post. Once the cable broke in, I like it less. It lost its high end and is now just OK. Still the best bang for the buck is the Gotham 85025. I actually ordered their 85055 10a .......

IMO the Sonarquests are built very well. The shell is a bit flexible, but overall they sound fantastic and I have no had one fail one me yet. I have never stripped a fastener either from over tighteni .......

It says pure copper, but some places advertise pure copper, but when you read the fine-print it's really Beryllium Copper or Tellurium copper. I doubt any company would make $80 XLR out of a material .......

From my experience with these Sonarquest plugs, they sound very nice. They have a very even and slightly warm sound, which is very pleasing. I liked them a whole lot better than the hospital grade and .......

Without a doubt I love the 3173 and is now a very close 2nd place. For 1.50 a foot it is a complete steal. I think I like the Furutech better, but it was close. I will terminate the Furutech and 3173 .......

Good point, I forgot to mention it. Its the Furutech FA-13S solid core 16awg. It has all the detail and tonal balance of the Mogami 3173, without the harshness/glare. .......

I agree with you. After listening to the Xhadow, there's no going back, ever. But for the cable comparison Neutrik was cheap and let me get a feel for the overall sound of the cables, without breaking .......

I am not 100% sure, but I think they are chassis mount. The DAC is the DAC3 DX and the Headphone amp is the HPA4. That being said, they have a five-year warranty, and I am not willing to void it by op .......

I have never had that type of failure either. I have used Neutrik, mostly, but I have also used Switchcraft and never had a failure mode like this.I made sure the connectors were firmly plugged in too .......

After you strip the cable, take the shield, twist it and then cut it off and throw it away. It is not needed because you have the drain wire connected to the shield, so it makes putting the shield on .......
