Thanks everyone. I just have an AT&T Air cellular modem/router box sending Wi-Fi to my system. I tried computer Audio years ago, it was always causing problems. Finally gave up untill the Oppo arrived .......

Think the idea is to keep noise collected by the speaker wires from entering the amp. The Quad transformers would stop noise from entering the speakers, but not protect the amp. Thanks, barondla ::: T .......

Yes, 200GB works in the Pono Player. Many friends use them. One is using a 250GB card. It is recommended the card be high speed class 10. Pono also recommends Sandisk, but other top brands work. Pono .......

Years ago, someone said that the ferrite saturates over time and becomes worse sounding. The fix is to use a bulk tape demagnetizer every week or so to "clear" the residual charge. Anyone try this? :: .......

Where do we have Pono selling upsampled material? A few albums may have gotten thru. Once Pono finds out it has always been corrected. That has been my experience. Love their hi res. Not a huge fan of .......

Computer did not come with Windows disc. The Intel ssd did come with every thing needed to install it. Even a handy insulated screwdriver. It also has a 3" disc with instructions and "migration" soft .......

Have the same Yamaha. Very relaxing to listen to. Love its natural (slightly warm) tonal balance. On SACD it doesn't sound digital at all. The midrange just sounds right. Just wish it was more transp .......

You will hear the difference. I use Sansa Fuse portable player with Denon in ear headphones and flac is much better than 320 MP3. Just sounds more real - less cartoony. Haven't ried vinyl yet. thanks .......

D, in the explanation you linked to, the author says that noise from a microphone preamp could act as dither. If this is so why couldn't noise thru an AC cord do something similar? Not saying it would .......

Friend has a smaller Pass preamp and manual says the preamp needs 10 hours after cold start to get where its going sonically. My mono Pass home builts need an hour. They are very toasty by then. VTL .......

The Western sounds better on my system with its own dac! It sounds horrid with the Perpetuals. There must be something very wrong with its digital out. The Perpetual P3A can't even play the Western. .......

Ran check disk on XP computer. I was surprised how it looked on screen. None of the cryptic messages like Vista. Just phase 1 with progress bar followed by phase 2 and progress bar. Then approx. 2.5 .......

Using the Westwern Digital to send 16/44.1k to dac. Hooking the sony sacd/cd player up and playing cd works fine. This eliminates the dac and toslink cable. Must be a problem with the Western. Guess .......

Depends on the dac. Some have very good jitter reduction like the Benchmark. It reduces the transport differences a fair amount. Other dacs are more affected by transport. I have a GW labs jitter red .......

How does it sound? Thats hard to compare. Against the Pioneer/Perpetual/GWlabs transport/dac stack its not even close. This is using the WD analog out. It is fairly comparable to my Sony 565 cd/SACD .......

Have you tried unplugging the dac from the wall? My GW Labs(jitter reducer) and Perpetual Technologies upsampler/dac will some times "mute" when plugging/unplugging cables. Some times they will not r .......
