I suspect not having the back panel is the reason for your rack being unstable. I don't have Salamander rack (always wanted one though) but judging by how it's build, it's a classic cabinet, with back .......

My pre/pro, Marantz 8003, actually has ability to decode pure DSD into analogue. When I did comparison of feeding DSD signal from a blu-ray player I liked the result less than listening to my Sony XA9 .......

I'm sure OP meant that not all SACD are sourced from DSD master. In fact majority of pop/rock SACDs are sourced from PCM digital or analogue tapes. As far as original questions, it's often hard to be .......

According to that data, m/ch SACD is the third most favorite format ahead of CD's. I would say that's pretty significant share, considering any system capable of reproducing m/ch SACD can reproduce 2 .......

Johan, If you are only listening to it in stereo, make sure that you set it to direct and connect via dedicated 2ch output. In that mode player puts 3 DACs per channel in series, for better sound. ::: .......

Most likely shift in pressure cause this. Just like when you ears pop in flight, except that you can adjust your inside pressure to unblock your ears, speakers can't. Vacuum trick should work, no prob .......

I've heard nothing but good things about Marantz in both SACD and CD performance. Might also consider Oppo 95 - it had ability to be networked DAC. But it might be outside of your price range... ::: T .......

I figured if Selects can have cheap Neutrik plugs on their $3,000+ cables, they are all right. Cardas of course manufactures fine XLR plugs, but their main advantage are Rhodium plating, metal housing .......

Cardas factory lengths are normally in half meter increments - 0.5m, 1m, 1.5m etc - so 2.25 seems like custom to me. It is not a standard foot length either. .......

CD player wouldn't even know there is a SACD layer in there. Unless there is some physical defect to the disk that caused your player to break, SACD layer could not affect anything in you player. Time .......
