Regardless of what some folks have been saying about Tulsa, it is a great place. It's an excellent town for music, especially the blues and Cain's Ballroom is the first place I would suggest you check .......

Simple. I'm using Audioquest Hard "Y" connectors with WBT male RCA plug-ins for EAR 834P parallel loading resistor which seems very similar. .......

Most were .5 watts, yes. In some cases it varied from .4 to .6 depending on manufacturer (Vishay Z-Foil was .4, Draloric .6). On the Armtrans I had to go to .75 but did not hear any extraneous noise b .......

No, I didn't try that since I can parallel loading resistors in the preamp it seemed like an unlikely option for this survey. Are you suggesting that this is a more direct and therefore effective mean .......

I did notice that same effect when I screwed the springs down to the wood a few years ago, too...not quite THIS pronounced though! I even used some loctite on the old spring assembly threads to insure .......

Hey Tom, Glad you're inspired to try other resistors; have fun! With the cartridge I'm using the 300 ohm seemed a little bright and with the default 100 ohm value of the MC jumpers was just too dull. .......

I do agree that the Shinkohs are a little euphonic especially when compared with the Vishay 102C and the Naked Vishays. Those are a very clean sounding resistors and I came very close to leaving the N .......

Push come to shove I could easily live with the Audio Notes which, other than the magnetic characteristics are very similar to the Shinkohs. I would consider the ANs to be a bit more euphonic in overa .......

I forgot to mention the the Audio Notes Tants were magnetic; the Shinkohs were not. This may have been why the bass was a little tubby...not sure. If you can find the values you need for the Shinkohs .......

It was an experience and yes, the Shinkohs were a blessing compared to all of the rest. Unfortunately, I now have an abundance of unused resistors. But, alas, it was well worth the time and expense fo .......

The Goldring will be a hard cartridge to replace for under $250.00. I would bit the bullet and invest in a replacement stylus for that cost and that way you won't have to worry about a replacement com .......
