Pi 1 and Pi 3 owner here. These are refined speakers. I expect the pi 2 fits your bill. The three is a big speaker. All need a subwoofer in my opinion. The three holds its own very well with an Altec .......

I use Qobuz exclusively. For classical and opera, the catalog is sufficient. Sound is superior to Tidal. I should mention I didn't have a special decoder for Tidal. The search function takes some gett .......

If you would consider building one, the SSE (simple single ended) would take you almost where you want to go. No 6bq5's, but el34, 6550, kt88 and 6l6 all work. I use two for my A7 clones. Sounds nice. .......

Minidsp user here. Not only do you get eq, you have a configurable xo if you are biamplifying. For around $100 you cannot go too far wrong. .......

I found it can be calculated BL= Sqrt(2*pi*Fs*Mms*Re/Qes) My calcs show a BL of 22 which I think is good. So no recharge is in my future. .......

Has anyone tried regulating the b+ on a Dynaco St-35? I have the Gillespie modification on my st35 clone. I figure some further improvement can be had by at least regulating the b+ for the front end. .......

I would check the tube sockets and tube pins for clean and the sockets for tight. I've had this problem and it was the contacts. .......

Usually, to run in triode, I would lift the ultralinear leads, connect the screen and plate with a 100 ohm resistor and that is that. In the St35 clone that I built, the ultralinear tap also has a fee .......

Thanks Cool. As it turns out, the cap in question is not a cathode bypass cap. I asked Dave Gillespie and found out it was there to ensure stability of the EFB cathode regulator. So I stuck in a Black .......

Thanks for the input. I have the Gillespie efb board installed. I also have a big enough chassis to fool with larger caps. So far, I've put a 47 uF solen off the rectifiers instead of the same sized e .......

Thanks everybody. I put a voltmeter on one amp and cranked it (KT88 triode). The max peak I was reading was 5 volts. Which gives me (v^2/r) 25/8=3 watts. My meter could be a little slow, so maybe doub .......

I have had very good experience with Joe Curcio's PAS upgrade kit for the line stage. It's fully regulated and, is certainly not soft. Neither is it hard. To my ears it's just right. I cannot comment .......

I got a passive hdmi spliter and ran an hdmi cable to a second tv. I intended to be able to watch in my main room and, seperately in another room. It turns out I cannot watch in either unless the tv's .......
