I have 3.6's in a 15x12x8 room. Rear wall is hard surface. The speakers are set up in the LeMage/HK setup. Therefore they are 6' out. This is the best sound I have ever heard in my house Alan ::: TOPI .......

I got mine about 1 week ago I went to the 2L music website. They have a test bench with free samples of music in almost every format. My unit played 24/96 and 24/192 with no problems Alan .......

I am listining to the LitedacAH in my main system. This is a very good sounding dac. It is a R2R NOS dac with 8 parellel Phillips 1543 silver crown chips. The dac is available on e-bay for under $200 .......

We did the walk around the room also. It sounded the same no matter your position in the room. Also when I was seated, as people crossed in front of the speakers there also was no change in the sound. .......

Qobuz will be about double the price of Tidal for streaming from what I see on there site if you want highest resolution. I also would want to see there classical catilog before joining Alan ::: TOPIC .......

I use an Audio-GD Master 7 dac set to NOS and this recording sounds great. Yes balances can be strange and the interpretation unusual but it has taken a work that I used to love but grew tired of and .......

My room is the perfect size for setting up the room in the lamage/uk setup. The sound is the best I have ever heard. It is very close to the sound of the control room in the studio I worked in for 20 .......

I am waiting for Qobuz also but if you pay Tidal monthly you can also quit. I really don't expect to see Qobuz here because of financial problems but will see. Looking forward to the rollout of HdTrac .......

I totally disagree with you Abe. While definitely inferior to my Audio-GD Master 7 I find the Explorer 2 to be a decent sounding dac. I do feed it from a Mac Pro but insert an Intona Galvonic isolater .......

Of course the Plangent process doesn't really add anythng additional to the recording. It simply allows more of the original recording thru by eliminating Scrape flutter that occurred in the creation .......

A hard solid wall all the way across is the best for Planer (Dipole) speakers. Anything else is a compromise.It can still sound good but not best. Putting an absorbing curtain over the TV will comprom .......

The review says the bass goes down to 25hz. Doesn't seem that it would need a sub. The review does say the quality of the bass really depends on the amp driving the speaker. Maybe you need a different .......

These recordings in Heinz hall are definitely on the dry sound. The miking might also eliminate hall sound. My comments are based only on 2 track sound. I would expect surroun sound to give a differen .......

You are not correct. The encoded MQA format is24/48 or 24/44. The actual file can be anything from 16/44 to 24/192. Tidal will decode the MQA file up to a resolution of 24/96. If you want up to 24/192 .......

I have said this many time as an electrical engineer and recording engineer, measurements are usually needed for design purposes but they tell the consumer almost nothing of what a product will sound .......

Mqa is not getting rid of the bottom 8 bits. They are actual encoding additional information into those bits and then recovery that content in the decoding or as they call it the unfolding process. Yo .......

Remember, typically R2R dacs measure poorer than Delta/Sigma dacs but in my opinion sound better. In fact my system with a R2R dac and all tubes probably measures worse than most DS dac and solid stat .......

To get 24/192 files you have to buy downloads which are not cheap. I can now get them from Tidal which I was already paying for and using a Meridian Explorer dac I got for $199. . That is an accomplis .......

I have done a lot of comparisons at the 2L site. What I can say is that the MQA files sound as good as the 24/192 files which is quite an accomplishment. And you are comparing the same Masters on this .......

For true Limage setup the speakers should point straight ahead. They should be 40% into the room and you should be sitting within 2' of the back wall. Your room may not be ideal for a true Limage setu .......

This is caused by pumping do to heavy compression. It is not a common practice in classical recordings but FM radio stations and TV stations typically do this Alan .......

I used Dolby A in our studio. It only eliminates noise added by the tape. It does not alter the incoming signal with proper dolby playback Alan .......

My Berning ZH270 uses a very complicated switching power supply and being an OTL has no large output transformer. It is a stereo amp and weighs 10 lbs. My previous hurricane monoblocks wer 60lbs each. .......

A lot of Supra cables use tinned copper and sound very good. It will demonstrate that tinned copper can sound very good like the Western Electric and Dueland cables which are my favorites Alan ::: TOP .......

Part of the problem is that most new releases are not available as vinyl Any reviewer has to go digital to cover most new releases. I follow Gramaphone and American Record Guide who have gone digital .......

Bits are not bits. Jitter is one problem. Clock stability is another. Unstable power supplies. RFI problems. Reflections caused by poor impedance matching. Also the analog output sections of these dev .......

Also remember Frequency varies with volume. Good old Fletcher-Munson. If you have excess high frequencies it is not because you are sitting to close but probably playing to loud Alan .......

In the Limage setup just the opposite happens. You do not hear the individual speakers at all and the space between the speakers just fills up with sound. Limage is counter intuitive but it works in t .......

The speakers would be pulled out from the front wall 40% into the room. Within 1' of the side wall, tweeters in pointing straight ahead ( No toe in). You also need to be sitting within 2' of the back .......
